What this station is useful for

Overview

Kintetsu Nara Station is the Kintetsu rail station on the park side of central Nara. It is a strong choice for travelers whose first priority is Nara Park, Kofukuji, Nara National Museum, or the sightseeing streets east of the station.

Lines and access

The station is served by the Kintetsu Nara Line and uses station number A28. Kintetsu's network connects the Nara side with Osaka Namba, Kyoto-side routes, and other Kintetsu destinations, making this station useful for visitors not relying only on JR trains.

Where it fits in a trip

For many day visitors, Kintetsu Nara Station is the more convenient arrival point for a park-first plan. Nara Park is a short walk from the station area, and buses or taxis are available for sights deeper inside the park or farther across the city.

Good to know

Kintetsu Nara Station is not the same place as JR Nara Station. Choose Kintetsu Nara for the closest rail access to the park area, and choose JR Nara when a JR route, JR pass itinerary, airport limousine bus, or JR-side hotel is the deciding factor.
