Henn na Hotel Premier Nara

Overview

Just two minutes from Exit 6 of Kintetsu Nara Station, Henn na Hotel Premier Nara puts Kofukuji, Nara Park, and Naramachi within walking distance. You won't need a bus to begin a day of central Nara sightseeing.

The arrival experience adds a playful note to an otherwise straightforward stay. Hologram characters guide guests through contactless check-in in several languages, while staff are available when human assistance is needed. The hotel has 104 non-smoking rooms, ranging from compact doubles to four-bed layouts for groups.

Rooms

The smaller options are the 14.9-square-meter Double and 17.9-square-meter Standard Twin, both with unit bathrooms. Both are compact choices for one or two guests who expect to spend much of the day exploring. Floor space isn't the only difference between categories.

Superior Twin and King rooms have separate bath, toilet, and washbasin areas. The Twin Extra adds a sofa bed for a third adult, while the 39.7-square-meter Force room contains four fixed single beds. These larger layouts are worth comparing when several adults want to share or when a separate bath and toilet matter. A wheelchair-accessible Universal Twin is also available.

Facilities

The automated Baggage Keeper is particularly handy on sightseeing days, allowing guests to leave bags before check-in or after checkout. Front-desk assistance is available when needed.

Paid laundry, a microwave, water dispenser, and ice machine cover everyday needs on the first floor. Rental bicycles offer another way to explore central Nara, although most first-time sightseeing from here can easily begin on foot.

Dining

Weather Parlor serves a paid breakfast from 7:00 to 10:00. Breakfast combines a plated hot dish and a choice of bread with a small buffet of salads, soup, yogurt, and ochazuke toppings. It may be divided into assigned time slots on busy dates.

The restaurant remains open for lunch and cafe service but doesn't serve dinner. For an evening meal, the streets around Kintetsu Nara and the route toward Naramachi provide far more choice than the hotel itself.

Location and transport

Kintetsu Nara is the nearest station, about two minutes away via Exit 6. Direct trains run to Osaka-Namba. Services to Kyoto may be direct or require a change at Yamato-Saidaiji, so check the train before boarding.

JR Nara Station is a separate rail hub about 12 minutes away on foot. Use it for JR services and a wider choice of airport buses. Kintetsu Nara provides the shorter walk to the hotel and better access to the park side of the city, although the hotel isn't directly connected to the station.

Airport access

Airport travel relies on public transport rather than a hotel shuttle. Current Kansai Airport bus schedules focus on JR Nara Station, with only limited service at Kintetsu Nara, while the Osaka Itami Airport route also uses JR Nara. From the bus stop, complete the journey on foot or by taxi.

A rail alternative from Kansai Airport uses the Nankai line to Namba, followed by an underground transfer to Osaka-Namba and a Kintetsu train to Nara. The journey requires a transfer, but the final train arrives close to the hotel. Check current timetables before deciding between bus and rail.

Why stay here

The short walk from Kintetsu Nara means many sightseeing days can begin without a local bus. Nara Park starts east of the station, with Kofukuji near its western edge and Todaiji and the Nara National Museum farther inside the park.

Head south instead, and covered shopping streets lead toward Naramachi, where historic townhouses now share the neighborhood with cafes, shops, and local dining. Together, these walking routes make it easy to explore central Nara and return to the hotel between outings.

Good to know

There is no on-site parking. A partner car park is about four minutes away, but drivers should confirm current rates and opening hours before arrival. All guest rooms are non-smoking, and a designated smoking room is available on the first floor.
