Overview
Piazza Hotel Nara is about one minute on foot from the West Exit plaza at JR Nara Station. Kintetsu Nara Station is roughly 12 minutes away, putting both central rail stations within walking range. JR arrivals have the easier approach.
Rooms include doubles, twins, Japanese-design options, and a large suite. A 24-hour gym, self-service laundry, ground-floor Lawson, and several onsite dining venues give guests more flexibility than a basic station-side stay.
Rooms
The Moderate Double measures 19 square meters and has a queen bed, while the 20.9-square-meter Superior Double has a king bed. Twin rooms range from 20 to about 35 square meters, with view and corner categories offering more floor space.
Japanese-design Double and Twin rooms measure between 19.8 and 28 square meters. The 65.6-square-meter Suite is the largest option. Bed sizes and layouts vary among the Twin categories, so it's worth checking the exact room plan when booking for more than two people.
Facilities
Hotel guests aged 18 and over can use the fitness room free of charge, 24 hours a day. Paid steam wash-and-dry machines are also available around the clock, which is helpful on longer stays or multi-city trips.
Ice machines are installed on every guest floor. The first-floor Lawson is open 24 hours, so drinks, snacks, and basic supplies remain easy to pick up after a late arrival.
Dining
La Festa on the third floor serves breakfast and lunch buffets. In the basement, Sanga offers teppanyaki dinners on selected days, while Cento LIVE and Cento Bar provide live music and drinks.
Opening days and service times vary by venue, particularly at dinner. Check the current schedule and reserve ahead if a specific restaurant is important to your plans.
Location and transport
The hotel is on the west side of JR Nara Station Area. JR trains connect Nara with Kyoto and Osaka, while taxis and local buses continue toward the park-side sights.
Nara Park and the main temple district are east of the station rather than immediately around the hotel. You can walk, but a local bus or taxi may be more comfortable when time is limited, the weather is hot, or you're carrying luggage.
Airport access
Direct limousine buses to Kansai International Airport and Osaka Itami Airport depart from JR Nara Station's East Exit. Because the hotel is on the opposite side, allow time to cross the station rather than expecting a hotel-door pickup.
Airport buses don't run continuously and may require reservations. Check the current timetable before matching a departure with your flight.
Why stay here
The one-minute walk from JR Nara Station cuts down on backtracking after a rail arrival and helps with early departures for Kyoto, Osaka, or other JR destinations. Onsite breakfast and evening dining, together with the 24-hour convenience store and laundry, are handy when the schedule leaves little time to search around town. If the shortest walk to Nara Park matters more, compare hotels near Kintetsu Nara.
Sanjo-dori leads east from the station side toward central Nara. Follow it toward Naramachi for old merchant streets, cafes, craft shops, and Gangoji Temple, or continue to Nara Park for the deer lawns and temple routes.
Good to know
The airport limousine stops are at JR Nara Station's East Exit, while Piazza Hotel Nara is beside the West Exit. The hotel has no dedicated parking, and nearby paid car parks neither guarantee spaces nor provide hotel discounts.
