Overview
On the edge of Tokyo Bay, Takeshiba Station is the closest rail stop for WATERS takeshiba, Tokyo Port City Takeshiba, and the passenger ship terminal in Tokyo-Takeshiba. Its elevated Yurikamome platforms are between Shiodome and Hinode.
It's a small station, not an interchange. Takeshiba is convenient for the waterfront and Yurikamome journeys, while Hamamatsucho Station is the better option for JR routes or the Tokyo Monorail to Haneda Airport.
Lines and connections
Takeshiba is U03 on the Yurikamome. Trains toward Shimbashi stop at Shiodome before reaching the line's central Tokyo terminus. In the opposite direction, trains continue through Hinode and the bay districts of Odaiba and Ariake before reaching Toyosu.
The route is especially helpful for waterfront events and attractions. There is no direct service to Tokyo Station, Shinagawa, or the airport, so those journeys require a transfer or a walk to Hamamatsucho.
Station area
WATERS takeshiba is about three minutes from the station's B2 side. Its waterfront plaza is joined by public dining and entertainment venues, while mesm Tokyo, Autograph Collection occupies the hotel tower. Tokyo Port City Takeshiba is also close by.
Takeshiba Passenger Ship Terminal is about one minute away and serves ferries to Tokyo's islands. The station, passenger ship terminal, and waterfront promenades form a convenient departure area for boat travel, although rail passengers have only the Yurikamome at hand.
What's nearby
Boardwalks and public plazas face the Sumida River and Tokyo Bay. Hama-rikyu Gardens can be seen across the water from WATERS takeshiba, and water-bus services connect the district with Asakusa, Odaiba, and other riverside stops when operating.
Good to know
The passenger ship terminal and the WATERS takeshiba pier are separate boarding points. Check your operator and pier before departure.
For wider travel across Tokyo, Hamamatsucho is about a six- to seven-minute walk from the waterfront complexes and provides JR connections and direct Tokyo Monorail service to Haneda Airport. Takeshiba is the simpler stop when the Yurikamome or immediate waterfront is your priority.
