Overview
Inside WATERS takeshiba on Tokyo's waterfront, mesm Tokyo, Autograph Collection looks across the Shiodome River toward Hama-rikyu Gardens. Takeshiba Station is three minutes away, while Hamamatsucho Station is a six-minute walk for JR trains and the Tokyo Monorail.
The hotel occupies floors 16 through 26 and has 265 non-smoking rooms. Standard rooms begin at a generous 40 square meters, dining overlooks the gardens and bay, and every room has a digital piano. The view is central to the experience.
Rooms
Chapter 1 rooms measure 40 square meters and have either one king bed or twin beds. The slightly larger Chapter 2 rooms measure 43 to 44 square meters, with a circular layout arranged around one king bed. Both categories have upper-floor versions, while selected garden-view rooms add balconies facing Hama-rikyu and the waterfront.
The suites change the scale considerably. Chapter 3 provides 95 square meters, separate living and dining areas, and a waterfront balcony. Chapter 4 occupies the top floor, spanning 180 square meters with an expansive private balcony. Digital pianos appear throughout the room lineup, turning the design concept into something guests can actually use.
Facilities
The 106-square-meter fitness center on the 17th floor is open around the clock for overnight guests. It has Technogym equipment but no rental shoes or exercise clothing, so you'll need to bring your own kit.
The 16th-floor lobby hosts a live performance each night. Paid laundry service and valet parking are available, while the wider WATERS takeshiba complex has a separate public parking garage.
Dining
Chef's Theatre serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner from an open-kitchen dining room overlooking Hama-rikyu Gardens. Its cooking follows a French bistronomy style, and breakfast is served here each morning.
Whisk is the 16th-floor bar and lounge, serving cocktails, sweets, and light meals in an art-studio-inspired setting. Club mesm occupies the 25th floor and has a terrace overlooking the bay, but it operates as a paid private salon rather than a complimentary executive lounge. Twenty-four-hour in-room dining is another option when you'd rather stay upstairs.
Location and transport
The shortest approach is from Takeshiba Station on the Yurikamome, about three minutes away. Trains run through Shiodome to Shimbashi in one direction and toward Odaiba, Ariake, and Toyosu in the other.
Hamamatsucho's North Exit is about six minutes away and is more useful for trips around central Tokyo. JR Yamanote and Keihin-Tohoku trains stop there alongside the Tokyo Monorail. Daimon Station is about seven minutes from the hotel, adding the Toei Asakusa and Oedo subway lines.
Airport access
For Haneda Airport, walk to Hamamatsucho and take the Tokyo Monorail. Haneda Express trains reach Airport Terminal 3 in as little as 13 minutes from the monorail station, with Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 a few minutes farther along the same line.
A scheduled Airport Limousine bus connects Narita Airport directly with the hotel in roughly two hours. It avoids a rail transfer when the timetable fits, but traffic and limited departures make checking the current schedule important.
Why stay here
Waterfront views, rooms starting at 40 square meters, and the six-minute walk to Hamamatsucho create a rare balance of space and transport in central Tokyo. Takeshiba Station also keeps Odaiba and Ariake on a single elevated rail line. The tradeoff is clear: Shinkansen journeys still require a connection to Tokyo or Shinagawa.
The surrounding Tokyo-Takeshiba district adds more than a view. WATERS takeshiba has theatres, restaurants, a waterfront plaza, and water-bus departures, while Takeshiba Pier serves ferries to Tokyo's islands. Hama-rikyu Gardens is visible across the water and can be reached from the city side for a quieter break from the bay towers.
Good to know
Club mesm is open to overnight guests aged 20 and over, but a cover charge and separate food-and-drink charges apply. It shouldn't be confused with a conventional club lounge automatically included with an executive room.
Garden views and balconies depend on the room category. The hotel also stopped providing disposable toothbrushes as standard in March 2026, so bring your own if you prefer a conventional toothbrush.
