Overview
Takamatsu-Chikko Station is Kotoden’s terminal on the waterfront side of central Takamatsu, close to Takamatsu Station, Takamatsu Port, Tamamo Park, and hotels around the station area. It functions as the local private-rail counterpart to the JR station, rather than as a separate hotel district.
Lines and connections
The station is the city-side terminal for the Kotoden Kotohira Line and Nagao Line, with station numbers K00 and N00. Kotoden’s English guide describes routes from Takamatsu-Chikko toward Kotohira and Nagao. For Shido Line services, change at Kawaramachi.
Station area
Takamatsu-Chikko is useful if your stay includes Kotoden trips toward Kotohira, Nagao, Kawaramachi, approaches to Ritsurin Garden, or the castle and port side of the city. JR Takamatsu, airport bus stops, and ferry access are nearby, so many visitors treat the two stations as part of the same arrival area while still checking which railway operator their route uses.
Good to know
Use Takamatsu-Chikko for Kotoden services, not JR. For long-distance JR trains, arrivals from Okayama, and JR routes across Shikoku, Takamatsu Station is the relevant station.
