Overview
JR Clement Inn Takamatsu is the more streamlined, inn-style counterpart to JR Hotel Clement Takamatsu, located in the Takamatsu Station Area. It is designed for travelers who want Takamatsu's main transport options close together, with JR trains, Kotoden services, airport and long-distance buses, and ferry piers all nearby.
The hotel has 222 guest rooms and large public baths on the ninth floor. Its triangular building incorporates vessel-inspired design touches that suit the port setting, though its strongest appeal is simple convenience for arrivals, departures, and island connections.
Rooms
Guest rooms are compact and straightforward, with single, semi-double, double, twin, corner twin, and upper corner twin categories. Single and semi-double rooms are 15.1 sq m, doubles are 20.3 sq m, twins range from 21.5 to 22.5 sq m, corner twins are 31.8 sq m, and upper corner twins range from 36.5 to 38.1 sq m.
The selection gives solo travelers, couples, and small groups a practical range of choices without making the stay feel overly complicated. Standard in-room features include Wi-Fi, a refrigerator, kettle, humidifying air purifier, air conditioning, and a toilet with washing function.
Facilities
The ninth-floor public baths are the hotel's most distinctive facility. They are open in the evening and again in the morning, with separate entry control for the women's bath. Guests bring towels from their rooms, and the room TV can display bath crowding information.
Other services are practical and focused on short stays. Free Wi-Fi is available in guest rooms and throughout the building, the entrance is locked overnight for security, and luggage storage is available only on the day of check-in or check-out. The hotel does not provide foreign currency exchange.
Dining
Breakfast is served on the first floor at two venues. Setouchi Seafood Specialties Funa Chu offers a Japanese breakfast with a choice of fish or meat as the main dish, while Cafe & Bar Pronto serves a lighter Western-style breakfast with items such as toast and coffee.
The setup works well for guests heading out early by train, ferry, bus, or to a meeting. Funa Chu serves breakfast from 6:30 to 10:00, and Pronto offers its breakfast menu from 7:00 to 10:00.
Location and transport
The hotel is next to JR Hotel Clement Takamatsu and close to Takamatsu Station, Takamatsu-Chikko Station, the bus terminal, and the port. JR Takamatsu Station, Kotoden Takamatsu-Chikko Station, and the main bus terminal are clustered together, making transfers relatively simple.
This location is especially convenient for island plans. Ferry and high-speed boat departures for destinations such as Naoshima and Shodoshima are nearby, so guests can avoid crossing central Takamatsu with luggage before an early boat or train.
Airport access
Access to Takamatsu Airport is by limousine bus rather than rail. The airport bus runs directly to the Takamatsu-Chikko stop, about one minute from the hotel on foot. Buses from the front entrance of JR Hotel Clement Takamatsu can also be used.
For flight days, the hotel works best when the limousine bus timetable matches your arrival or departure. There is no hotel-operated airport shuttle.
Why stay here
JR Clement Inn Takamatsu suits travelers who want Takamatsu's transport links close at hand without choosing the larger full-service hotel next door. The immediate access to stations, buses, and ferry piers makes it a strong fit for first nights, last nights, island trips, and itineraries that combine the Seto Inland Sea with wider Shikoku travel.
The waterfront setting adds more than convenience. Sunport Takamatsu is just outside the hotel, while Tamamo Park, Takamatsu Port, and ferry routes to the Setouchi islands give the stay a clear port-city character.
Good to know
Several transport points are close to the hotel, but they serve different routes. Use Takamatsu Station for JR trains, Takamatsu-Chikko for Kotoden services, nearby bus stops for airport and highway buses, and the port for island ferries.
Parking uses the underground lot in front of Takamatsu Station. The vehicle height limit is 2.1 m, and roads can be busy on weekends, holidays, and weekday commuting periods.
