Overview
For the towers, hotels, and waterfront around Shiodome, this is the closest rail stop. The Toei Oedo Line and Yurikamome meet beside the elevated walkways of Tokyo-Shimbashi / Shiodome, with Hama-rikyu Gardens on the waterfront side.
The two operators share the Shiodome name but have separate gates and platforms. Their roles are different: the Oedo Line crosses central Tokyo, while the Yurikamome follows the bay through Odaiba and Ariake to Toyosu.
Lines and connections
Toei serves Shiodome as E19, between Tsukijishijo and Daimon. Trains toward the western side of the loop run through Roppongi and Aoyama-itchome before reaching Shinjuku. In the other direction, the next stops lead through Tsukijishijo, Kachidoki, and Tsukishima. Use this route when your plans center on the Oedo Line rather than JR services.
Shiodome is U02 on the Yurikamome. Shimbashi, the line's central Tokyo terminus, is the next stop. In the opposite direction, elevated trains continue through Takeshiba, Odaiba, Ariake, and the market side of the waterfront before reaching Toyosu.
Airport access
Shiodome has no airport rail line. For selected direct trains to Haneda or Narita, walk or take the Yurikamome one stop to Shimbashi Station, then use the Toei Asakusa Line. Not every train continues to an airport, so check the destination display before boarding.
Other airport routes run through larger Tokyo hubs. The right choice depends on the flight terminal, departure time, and whether a through-service from Shimbashi matches your journey.
Station area
The station is within Shiodome Sio-Site, a high-rise complex developed on former railway freight-yard land. Pedestrian decks and underground passages connect its towers, but the multi-level layout can make a first arrival less obvious than the short distances suggest.
Conrad Tokyo is about one minute from either the Toei Oedo or Yurikamome station. Other hotels, offices, restaurants, Caretta Shiodome, and Nippon Television's tower occupy the same district.
What's nearby
Hama-rikyu Gardens is about seven minutes away on foot. Its tidal pond and teahouse provide a striking change from the surrounding towers, while the public paths lead toward the Tokyo Bay side of the district.
The Yurikamome also opens up an easy waterfront day from Shiodome. Odaiba, Tokyo Big Sight, Ariake, Toyosu Market, and Toyosu have stops farther along the line, although the station you need depends on the destination.
Good to know
Shiodome Station and Shimbashi Station are close, but they aren't interchangeable. Use Shiodome for the Oedo Line and the tower district. Shimbashi handles JR, the Ginza Line, the Toei Asakusa Line, and the start of the Yurikamome route.
Within Shiodome, follow signs for both the operator and your building rather than relying only on the station name. Transferring between Toei and Yurikamome means passing through separate station areas, and the route to a particular tower may use a pedestrian deck, underground passage, or street-level entrance.
