Overview
Beneath the business streets west of Hamamatsucho's JR tracks, Daimon Station brings together the Toei Asakusa and Oedo lines. It serves the hotels, restaurants, and Tokyo Tower side of Tokyo-Hamamatsucho.
Hamamatsucho Station is nearby, but it is separate. The two stations serve different trips. Use Hamamatsucho for JR trains and the Tokyo Monorail; Daimon is often the simpler starting point when a Toei subway route avoids an extra transfer.
Lines and connections
The Asakusa Line crosses east-central Tokyo through Shimbashi, Ginza, Nihombashi, and Asakusa before reaching Oshiage. Southbound trains serve Mita and Sengakuji, where some continue onto the Keikyu network.
The Oedo Line follows a different arc. Shiodome and Tsukijishijo are close by in one direction, while Akabanebashi, Roppongi, and Shinjuku lie in the other. Together, the two lines cover journeys that would otherwise require a change at a larger interchange.
Airport access
Selected Airport Limited Express trains run from Haneda Airport through the Keikyu and Toei Asakusa lines to Daimon without a transfer. The service pattern depends on the timetable, so check that your train continues to Daimon rather than assuming every airport train does.
The alternative is the Tokyo Monorail from Hamamatsucho Station. This requires a short walk between the separate stations, but it provides frequent direct trains to all three Haneda passenger terminals.
Station area
Exit A2 serves the Hamamatsucho 1-chome side, including HOTEL MYSTAYS Hamamatsucho, about two minutes away. Other exits lead toward Hamamatsucho Station, the Minato City offices, Zojoji Temple, and Tokyo Tower.
This is an office and hotel district rather than a large shopping complex. Restaurants and small bars become more noticeable after work, while the streets west of the station continue toward Shiba Park and Tokyo Tower.
What's nearby
Zojoji Temple and Tokyo Tower fit naturally into the same walk from Daimon. Kyu-Shiba-rikyu Gardens lies on the opposite side of Hamamatsucho's rail tracks, closer to the JR station.
Good to know
Daimon and Hamamatsucho are treated as a transfer pair, but their gates and platforms are separate. When arranging a meeting, specify both the line and station. It is also worth checking the most convenient exit for your exact hotel address.
