Overview
A 2,000-volume library extends through Shiba Park Hotel, from the lobby lounge and central staircase to small reading corners on the guest floors. Books shape the stay. The hotel is two minutes from Onarimon Station and about seven minutes from Zojoji Temple and Tokyo Tower.
Founded in 1948 and fully renovated between 2020 and 2023, the hotel now has 198 non-smoking rooms. Its location in Tokyo-Hamamatsucho feels quieter than the large rail hubs nearby, while three stations provide different routes across Tokyo.
Rooms
Standard king, twin, and triple rooms make up most of the room selection and measure about 21 to 22 square meters. The standard triple combines a bunk bed with a single bed, giving a small family or group the option of sharing one room.
Deluxe rooms provide 32 to 39 square meters, while the 44-square-meter junior suites are the largest choice. Connecting rooms can accommodate parties of four, subject to availability. Check the exact bed arrangement when booking, as the twin, triple, and connecting options suit different group sizes and sleeping preferences.
Facilities
The library is more than a lobby display. Guests can use the first-floor lounge, the staircase collection, and Inglenook reading corners from the sixth through eleventh floors at any hour. Complimentary coffee and tea are available around the clock, so these shared spaces offer a quiet break between outings.
A 24-hour coin laundry comes in handy on longer stays. The hotel also has a smoking room and 16 basement parking spaces, although parking can't be reserved and access involves stairs rather than an elevator.
Dining
The Dining brings Japanese, Western, and Chinese cooking together in one restaurant rather than dividing them among separate venues. A daily breakfast buffet runs from 7:00 to 10:00 a.m., and the restaurant also serves afternoon tea, lunch, and dinner.
Room service is available during lunch and dinner periods. It provides an easy in-house fallback, while the surrounding Hamamatsucho and Daimon area has a much wider selection of casual restaurants.
Location and transport
Onarimon Station is the closest stop, about two minutes away via Exit A2 on the Toei Mita Line. Trains run directly to Hibiya, Otemachi, and Jimbocho. Daimon Station is about four minutes away and adds the Asakusa and Oedo lines.
Hamamatsucho Station is about eight minutes away. Its JR Yamanote and Keihin-Tohoku lines are better for reaching major rail hubs, while the Tokyo Monorail runs directly to every Haneda Airport terminal. If you're carrying luggage, choose the station that best matches your route rather than assuming the nearest entrance is always the easiest.
Airport access
For Haneda Airport, walk to Hamamatsucho and take the Tokyo Monorail. The hotel currently lists its Haneda airport limousine service as suspended, so don't plan around a hotel-door bus without checking whether service has resumed.
The current Narita limousine arrangement is limited. Inbound buses stop at Hotel inumo shibakoen, directly in front of Shiba Park Hotel, with a published journey of about 145 minutes depending on traffic. The hotel doesn't list a matching outbound service from that stop, so plan to use rail or another departure point for the return to Narita.
Why stay here
The combination of a quieter central Tokyo setting, a distinctive library, family-friendly room options, and three stations within an eight-minute walk gives the hotel its appeal. Onarimon is closest, while Daimon and Hamamatsucho add broader subway, JR, and airport connections when the route calls for them.
The immediate neighborhood rewards walking. Zojoji Temple stands beside the greenery of Shiba Park, Tokyo Tower rises just beyond it, and Atago Shrine is another nearby stop. These recognizable Tokyo sights are close without placing the hotel inside a crowded nightlife district.
Good to know
Tokyo Tower is nearby, but guest rooms don't have tower views. Check-in begins at 3:00 p.m. and check-out is by 11:00 a.m. The entrance is locked between midnight and 6:00 a.m.; staying guests can enter with their room key.
