Early departures and one-night rail stops are easy to manage here, and eventgoers can walk to Yokohama Arena. Minato Mirai, Chinatown, and the harbor still require a local train ride into central Yokohama.

Schedules set the pace here. Cubic Plaza Shin-Yokohama connects directly to the station, providing a straightforward stop for meals and travel-day shopping. Hotels fill the surrounding blocks, so check-in, dinner, and the return to the platforms all happen within a small area.
Main places
Yokohama Arena is about four to five minutes on foot from the station. The Shin-Yokohama Ramen Museum is about five minutes from the JR side, or one minute from Exit 10 when arriving by subway, Tokyu, or Sotetsu. Nissan Stadium gives the wider district another major sports venue.
Stations and access
The Tokaido Shinkansen is the defining service, with direct trains east to Tokyo and west toward Nagoya, Kyoto, and Shin-Osaka. For city travel, the Yokohama Municipal Subway Blue Line reaches Yokohama Station in about 11 minutes. The JR Yokohama Line handles local trips across northern Yokohama, while Tokyu and Sotetsu through services provide direct routes toward central Tokyo and western Kanagawa.
Direct airport buses serve Shin-Yokohama Station, Shin Yokohama Prince Hotel, and all three Haneda Airport terminals. Travel times vary by terminal and road conditions, so leave a comfortable margin before a flight.
Where it fits in a trip
A fixed schedule is the clearest reason to stay here, whether that means an early Shinkansen or an arena event. Without one, central Yokohama offers more to explore after dinner. Yokohama Station Area has a broader mix of trains, shopping, and nightlife, while Minato Mirai is closer to the waterfront.

Shin-Yokohama Station and Yokohama Station are separate stops, about 11 minutes apart by direct subway. A hotel near one isn't within walking distance of the other. Check which station appears on your Shinkansen ticket or event directions before booking.
