Transport access and hotel guide

Overview

The former Associa hotel directly above Shin-Yokohama Station closed on July 16, 2026, following its final overnight stays on July 15. It is being converted into Courtyard by Marriott Shin-Yokohama Station, with an opening planned for December 2026. Neither the exact opening date nor the start of reservations has been announced.

The Associa hotel can no longer be booked. For a future stay in the same building, look for updates under the Courtyard name.

Rooms

Plans for the Courtyard include 203 refurbished rooms and a small number of connecting rooms. Final room categories, rates, and amenities haven't been published.

Don't assume that details from the former Associa rooms will carry over after the change of brand.

Facilities

The announced design expands the lobby on the 10th floor and reworks the guest lounge on the 12th floor. A fitness facility is also planned, although the services available at opening haven't been confirmed.

Dining

A restaurant is planned, but its concept, hours, and breakfast arrangements remain unannounced. The former Associa breakfast setup is no longer a reliable guide.

Location and transport

The building stands directly above Shin-Yokohama Station. Tokaido Shinkansen trains stop here, as do the JR Yokohama Line, Yokohama Municipal Subway Blue Line, Tokyu Shin-Yokohama Line, and Sotetsu Shin-Yokohama Line. Cubic Plaza has shops and places to eat in the same station building.

Shin-Yokohama isn't central Yokohama. Minato Mirai, Chinatown, and the waterfront require a local train ride. The wider Shin-Yokohama Station Area is geared more toward transport, business, and events.

Airport access

Keikyu limousine buses connect Haneda Airport with Shin-Yokohama Station. This is a public airport-bus service, not a hotel shuttle, and journey times can vary with traffic. Check the operator's current timetable before traveling.

Why stay here

Once the Courtyard opens, staying directly above the station should simplify early Shinkansen departures and late arrivals by train. Yokohama Arena is about four to five minutes on foot from the station, so the building is also convenient for concerts and other events.

Travelers spending most of their time around Yokohama's waterfront may prefer Minato Mirai or Kannai. This address is better suited to trips where easy Shinkansen access matters most.

Good to know

December 2026 is a planned opening window, not a confirmed date, and reservations aren't open. Former room features, lounge access, dining, and other services shouldn't be treated as part of the new Courtyard unless Marriott or JR Central confirms them.
