Transport access and hotel guide

Overview

Daiwa Roynet Hotel Shin-Yokohama keeps the focus on Shin-Yokohama for travelers using Shin-Yokohama Station or attending an event at Yokohama Arena. The hotel is about four minutes on foot from the JR and Shinkansen side, and Yokohama Arena is roughly three minutes away.

That gives it a different role from hotels around Yokohama Station, Minato Mirai, or Chinatown. Choose this area when your plans revolve around a bullet-train arrival, an early departure, a nearby event, or work in the Shin-Yokohama Station Area. If bay views and classic port-city sightseeing are the priority, central Yokohama will usually feel closer to the trip.

Rooms

Rooms range from 18 square meters to 32 square meters in the Executive Twin category. Most guests will be choosing among simple double rooms, roomier corner or superior layouts, and twin categories for two-bed stays.

It is worth comparing room types before booking. Standard doubles are compact, while corner rooms add more entry space for luggage. Deluxe Twin rooms can accommodate an extra bed and include a microwave and freezer. Executive Twin rooms give work and relaxation space a clearer separation. Rooms also have smart TVs, wide desks, and standalone air conditioning. Air purifiers and trouser presses cover the rest of the basics.

Facilities

The 2025 renewal is most noticeable in the guest rooms and refreshed interiors. Shared facilities are geared toward short city stays, with parking for drivers, laundry for longer trips, and luggage storage for arrivals or departures on the same day.

Parking is available in 20 ground-floor spaces on a first-come, first-served basis. Coin laundry is on the third floor and operates 24 hours a day. Vending machines and microwaves are on the third and seventh floors, and an ice machine is on the seventh floor. The front desk can also assist with domestic courier service and basic copy or fax requests.

Dining

Breakfast is served at Tavernetta Salvatore on the first floor from 6:30 AM to 10:00 AM, with last entry at 9:30 AM. The buffet mixes Japanese and Western items with a few Italian touches.

Yokohama-style Napolitan provides the clearest local note, while margherita focaccia and grilled vegetables with bagna cauda bring in the Italian side. Bread and salad round out the spread, with soup, fruit, and Japanese breakfast staples. For an early departure, workday, or event schedule, the main benefit is being able to eat before leaving the building.

Location and transport

The rail hub is the main reason to choose this location. The Tokaido Shinkansen provides direct long-distance service toward Tokyo and west to Nagoya, Kyoto, Osaka, and beyond. For local travel, the JR Yokohama Line and Yokohama Municipal Subway Blue Line cover key links, while the Tokyu Shin-Yokohama Line and Sotetsu Shin-Yokohama Line add through-routes north of central Yokohama.

The immediate neighborhood is strongly event-focused. Yokohama Arena is about three minutes away on foot, the Shin-Yokohama Ramen Museum is about five minutes away, and Nissan Stadium is about 15 minutes away depending on the gate. If your plans center on Minato Mirai or Yamashita Park, compare hotels closer to central Yokohama before booking. The same applies to Chinatown, port-history walks, and bayfront views.

Airport access

Airport trips use Shin-Yokohama Station Bus Terminal rather than a hotel-door shuttle. From Haneda Airport, the limousine bus to Shin-Yokohama takes about 50 minutes, followed by an approximately five-minute walk from the bus terminal to the hotel.

Narita Airport is a longer journey. The limousine bus from Narita to Shin-Yokohama takes about two hours, again followed by the short walk from the bus terminal. Check the timetable carefully if your flight is early, late, or you are traveling with substantial luggage.

Why stay here

Stay here when Shin-Yokohama itself is central to the trip. The clearest reasons are Shinkansen timing and Yokohama Arena events. The location also suits Nissan Stadium plans, Shin-Yokohama Ramen Museum visits, and short work stays where the rail hub matters more than waterfront atmosphere.

It is less compelling as a first-choice hotel for general Yokohama sightseeing. Minato Mirai, Chinatown, port-history walks, and bay views are easier from hotels farther south in Yokohama.

Good to know

The hotel is near Shin-Yokohama Station, but it is not directly connected to the platforms. Allow for a short outdoor walk, especially with luggage or in bad weather.

Shin-Yokohama and Yokohama Station are not interchangeable. Shin-Yokohama is the better choice for the Shinkansen and nearby events, while Yokohama Station is the broader city rail hub for shopping, local transfers, and simpler trips toward Minato Mirai.
