Overview
Comfort Hotel Takamatsu is especially convenient on flight days: the Nakajincho airport bus stop is one minute away, with direct service to Takamatsu Airport. On the inland side of central Takamatsu, the hotel is also about eight minutes from Kawaramachi Station and close to the city's covered shopping arcades.
Breakfast is included, and the second-floor library cafe remains open until midnight. Self-service luggage storage and 24-hour laundry add flexibility before a flight, between Kotoden day trips, or during a few days of sightseeing in the city.
Rooms
All rooms are non-smoking. Standard Doubles are compact 15-square-meter rooms with one 140-centimeter bed. Standard Twins provide 22 to 23 square meters and two 120-centimeter beds, while the 23-square-meter Family Rooms have three separate beds.
The largest option is the 29-square-meter Universal Room, which has two beds and barrier-free features for wheelchair users. Booking it requires contacting the hotel directly. Doubles cover straightforward stays for solo guests or couples, while the wider twin and family layouts provide more usable floor space for two or three people.
Facilities
Comfort Library Cafe is the main shared space. Open from 10:00 AM to midnight, it gives overnight guests complimentary access to books, Wi-Fi, charging points, and self-service coffee and tea. It's a comfortable spot for planning the next day's route, answering email, or taking a break outside the room.
Free self-service lockers are available before check-in and after check-out. The third-floor coin laundry operates around the clock, and its availability can be checked on the guest-room television before heading downstairs. Self check-in and check-out machines also keep front-desk formalities brief.
Dining
The complimentary breakfast buffet is served in the library cafe from 6:30 AM to 9:30 AM. Alongside breads and familiar buffet staples, it features smoothies, rotating hot dishes, and a local soup made with Kagawa dried sardine stock and pieces of udon.
There isn't a full lunch or dinner program. Instead, the nearby central shopping arcades provide plenty of choice, with udon shops, cafes, restaurants, and bars spread across the covered streets and side alleys.
Location and transport
Kawaramachi Station is about eight minutes away on foot from its west exit. All three Kotoden rail lines meet there: the Kotohira Line runs toward Kotoden-Kotohira, the Nagao Line heads east, and the Shido Line begins at Kawaramachi. These services support trips toward Ritsurin Garden and Kotohira as well as local travel around Takamatsu.
JR trains and island ferries depart from the waterfront side of the city. Takamatsu Station is about 21 minutes away on foot, or you can take Kotoden to Takamatsu-Chikko and walk from there. If a morning ferry or onward JR train controls the schedule, staying in the Takamatsu Station Area reduces the transfer with luggage.
Airport access
Takamatsu Airport limousine buses stop at Nakajincho, about a minute from the hotel. The journey from the airport takes about 27 minutes and doesn't require a rail transfer.
This is a public bus stop rather than a hotel shuttle. Services follow flight schedules, so check the current timetable and confirm the correct side of the road before leaving for the airport.
Why stay here
The short walk from the airport bus, included breakfast, and late-opening cafe take some pressure out of flight days and brief stays centered on Kawaramachi. The location favors Kotoden trips, the shopping arcades, and Ritsurin Garden over the ferry piers, although the waterfront remains reachable by local train or a longer walk.
Central Takamatsu's eight covered arcades extend for a combined 2.7 kilometres, placing shopping and much of the city's casual dining within a weather-protected network. Nearby Ritsurin Garden offers landscaped ponds, historic garden buildings, and seasonal scenery.
Good to know
The hotel isn't connected to a station, and Kawaramachi isn't part of the JR network. Drivers can use a 17-space paid lot beside the hotel or additional affiliated garages, but spaces are first-come, first-served and can't be reserved.
