Karasuma Oike Station Area is located around the Karasuma-Oike intersection in central Kyoto. The area works for travelers who want a practical city-center base with subway access north and south on the Karasuma Line and east and west on the Tozai Line.

Karasuma Oike Station connects the Kyoto Municipal Subway Karasuma Line and Tozai Line. From here, the Karasuma Line provides a direct subway ride to Kyoto Station, while the Tozai Line gives access toward Nijojo-mae, Higashiyama, and Yamashina without starting from the main JR station.
