InterContinental Tokyo Bay

Overview

A covered walkway connects InterContinental Tokyo Bay directly to Takeshiba Station on the edge of Tokyo Bay. Views extend toward Rainbow Bridge and Odaiba on one side, and across the Sumida River to central Tokyo on the other. Hamamatsucho Station is an eight-minute walk away for JR trains and the Tokyo Monorail.

Rooms start at 35 square meters, the dining choices are extensive, and the club lounge overlooks the bay. Takeshiba offers the easiest arrival, particularly with luggage or in bad weather. Reaching the broader JR, monorail, and subway network requires a short walk or shuttle ride.

Rooms

All guest rooms are non-smoking and range from 35 to 70 square meters. Classic rooms begin at 35 square meters with king or twin beds, while 42-square-meter Premium Bay View rooms add bathroom views across Tokyo Bay. The 52-square-meter Junior Suite looks toward both the river and bay.

At the top of the range, 70-square-meter designer suites have distinct layouts and interiors. Every room includes a separate shower booth and bathtub, but the outlook varies considerably by category. Check whether your booking specifies a bay, river, or city view rather than assuming every room faces Rainbow Bridge.

Facilities

The eighth-floor fitness room is open around the clock for overnight guests and looks across the Sumida River. Exercise clothing and shoes aren't available to rent, so bring your own kit. Luggage storage and paid public parking beneath the hotel are also available.

Club Lounge Access rooms occupy floors 20 through 24. Guests in these rooms can use the 20th-floor Club InterContinental Lounge for dedicated check-in and check-out, breakfast, afternoon tea, cocktails, and drinks. The lounge and upper guest floors reopened after renovation in April 2026.

Dining

Dining goes well beyond a single restaurant. Chef's Live Kitchen serves a large buffet, while Manhattan combines grilled and French dishes with a terrace overlooking Rainbow Bridge. Zillion and La Provence provide further choices, alongside teppanyaki, lounges, and in-room dining for anything from coffee to a formal dinner.

There's plenty of variety without leaving the hotel. Some restaurants have a smart-casual dress code, so check the current policy when planning dinner.

Location and transport

The covered walkway from Takeshiba Station is the simplest route with luggage or in bad weather. Yurikamome trains run toward Shiodome and Shimbashi in one direction, and toward Odaiba, Ariake, and Toyosu in the other.

Hamamatsucho is about eight minutes away on foot, with JR Yamanote and Keihin-Tohoku trains as well as the Tokyo Monorail. Daimon Station is about ten minutes away for the Toei Asakusa and Oedo subway lines. A complimentary hotel shuttle also runs between Hamamatsucho and the hotel, with a published journey time of about five minutes.

Airport access

For Haneda Airport, take the Tokyo Monorail from Hamamatsucho. The hotel doesn't operate a Haneda airport bus or shuttle; its complimentary vehicle covers only the short trip to Hamamatsucho Station.

A scheduled Airport Limousine bus runs directly between Narita Airport and the hotel in about 80 minutes under normal conditions. Departures from the hotel require advance booking, and road traffic can affect the journey. Check the current timetable before relying on the service for a flight.

Why stay here

Covered access to Takeshiba Station, rooms starting at 35 square meters, extensive dining, and bay or river views set this waterfront stay apart from a compact station-front hotel. Odaiba, Ariake, waterfront events, and Haneda flights are easier to build into an itinerary from here. The tradeoff is the eight- to ten-minute approach to JR and subway services.

The surrounding Tokyo-Takeshiba waterfront adds boardwalks, passenger piers, and open views across Tokyo Bay. Takeshiba Passenger Ship Terminal serves ferries to Tokyo's islands, while Hinode Pier has water-bus routes toward Asakusa and Odaiba when operating.

Good to know

The hotel is directly connected to Takeshiba Station, not Hamamatsucho. The free Hamamatsucho shuttle follows a timetable and has limited seating, so it won't suit every arrival or departure.

Room views depend on category. Bay View rooms face Rainbow Bridge and Odaiba, while River View and some city-facing rooms look across the Sumida River and central Tokyo skyline.
