Ochanomizu Station serves the musical instrument shops of Tokyo-Jimbocho / Ochanomizu and has a direct JR route to Tokyo Station. The JR and Tokyo Metro Marunouchi Line entrances are separate, so check the operator when following hotel directions or arranging to meet someone.
Lines and connections
JR Chuo rapid trains run to Tokyo Station and its Shinkansen connections, or west toward Shinjuku Station. Chuo-Sobu local trains serve Akihabara Station to the east and Suidobashi to the west.
An eastbound local train heads toward Akihabara, not Tokyo Station, so don't rely on direction alone. Check the line name before boarding.
The separate Marunouchi Line station provides subway service toward central Tokyo. Nearby Jimbocho Station serves different subway lines and is reached on foot rather than through a shared station concourse.

Airport access
From Narita Airport, take the Narita Express to Tokyo Station, then transfer to a Chuo rapid train for Ochanomizu. Allow time both for the two train journeys and the walk between platforms at Tokyo Station.
Station area
The JR Ochanomizubashi Exit leads toward the musical instrument shopping streets. General music stores stand alongside specialist dealers in instruments such as guitars and violins. You can compare new and used options in neighboring shops.
What's nearby
The walk from the Ochanomizubashi Exit to Jimbocho's main intersection takes about ten minutes. Cafes and curry restaurants make it easy to combine book shopping with lunch before returning by JR or subway.
Good to know
Sotetsu Fresa Inn Ochanomizu-Jimbocho is about eight minutes from the JR Ochanomizubashi Exit. That walking time doesn't apply to the separate Marunouchi Line entrance.
