Overview
Sotetsu Fresa Inn Ochanomizu-Jimbocho is in Tokyo-Jimbocho / Ochanomizu, close to Jimbocho's bookshops and places to eat. The subway is closer than JR Ochanomizu, though both are within walking distance. Rooms are small, so consider how much time you expect to spend indoors.
Rooms
Single rooms measure 9 to 9.5 square metres and have a 120-centimetre-wide bed. Standard Doubles measure 9.5 to 10.3 square metres, with a 140-centimetre-wide bed for one or two guests. The Double provides a wider bed but little extra floor space compared with the Single.
Twin rooms measure 13.6 square metres and have two separate beds. For four people, a connecting arrangement joins a Twin and Deluxe Double through an internal door. Contact the hotel by phone to book this combination rather than reserving two unrelated rooms.
Both smoking and non-smoking categories are available. Select your preference when booking.
Facilities
Coin-operated laundry is available for longer stays. Free Wi-Fi is provided, while toiletries and tea bags can be collected from the amenity area as needed.
Dining
Breakfast is served at Saint Marc Cafe on the ground floor from 6:30am to 10am. The set combines a warm bread item, a chocolate croissant, and a drink. It's a cafe breakfast rather than a buffet.
Jimbocho also has cafes and curry restaurants for meals outside the hotel. You can go out for lunch and return to your room without taking another train.
Location and transport
The walk from Jimbocho Station Exit A7 to the hotel takes about four minutes. The Toei Shinjuku Line runs directly to Shinjuku, the Hanzomon Line serves Shibuya, and the Mita Line provides another route to Otemachi.
From Ochanomizu Station's JR Ochanomizubashi Exit, allow about eight minutes on foot to the hotel. The Chuo rapid service connects with Tokyo Station and its Shinkansen services, while Chuo-Sobu local trains run to Akihabara. That walking estimate applies to the JR exit, not the separate Marunouchi Line station.
Airport access
From Haneda, take a Keikyu train continuing onto the Toei Asakusa Line to Mita, then change to the Mita Line for Jimbocho. Check the airport train's destination before boarding.
From Narita, take the Narita Express to Tokyo Station and change to a Chuo rapid train for Ochanomizu. Allow time for the transfer and the final walk to the hotel.
Why stay here
The short subway walk is helpful if you expect to make several trips across Tokyo each day. Coin laundry helps during a longer visit, while the connecting Twin and Deluxe Double arrangement gives a group of four separate bedrooms and bathrooms.
The neighborhood is known for new, secondhand, and rare bookshops, with cafes for a break between visits. Toward Ochanomizu, musical instrument shops sell guitars and other instruments. Both shopping districts can fit into the same afternoon.
Good to know
The hotel accepts cashless payments only, so bring a supported credit card or mobile payment option. Standard check-in begins at 3pm and check-out is by 11am, unless your booked plan specifies different times.
