Overview
Beneath Hisaya-odori Park and the Central Park underground shopping area, Hisaya-odori Station serves the northern end of Nagoya-Sakae. The Sakura-dori and Meijo lines cross here. This gives northern Sakae an interchange of its own, rather than leaving visitors to rely solely on Nagoya Sakae Station.
Chubu Electric Power MIRAI TOWER stands beside the station. Sakae's department stores and Oasis 21 are farther south, while the Sakura-dori Line provides the simplest subway connection to Nagoya Station for most intercity arrivals.
Lines and connections
Hisaya-odori is S05 on the Sakura-dori Line. Westbound trains run through Marunouchi and Kokusai Center to Nagoya Station, three stops away. Eastbound services continue toward Imaike, Gokiso, Aratama-bashi, and Tokushige.
The station is also M06 on the Meijo Line. Sakae is one stop south and Nagoyajo one stop north, while the loop continues through Kanayama and other central districts. In practice, the Sakura-dori Line handles cross-city trips, while the Meijo Line is convenient for shorter journeys around central Nagoya.
Airport access
There is no direct airport service. For Centrair, take the Sakura-dori Line to Nagoya Station and change to Meitetsu, or ride the Meijo Line to Kanayama for another Meitetsu connection. Both routes require a change of operator.
Airport limousine buses depart from stops elsewhere in the wider Sakae area, not from Hisaya-odori Station itself. Rail is generally the clearer option from here, especially when you're already near a Sakura-dori Line entrance.
Station area
Exits extend through the Central Park underground shopping area and emerge along Hisaya-odori Park. Offices and cafes face the park, while shops continue underground. This northern section feels less dense than the department-store blocks around Sakae Station.
THE TOWER HOTEL NAGOYA occupies the fourth and fifth floors of MIRAI TOWER. Its entrance is immediately outside the station area, placing the hotel within direct reach of the subway.
What's nearby
Hisaya-odori Park runs north and south around the tower, with shops, restaurants, terraces, and event spaces across its landscaped sections. MIRAI TOWER has observation levels, while Oasis 21 and the Aichi Arts Center are closer to Sakae Station.
Nagoya Castle is one stop north on the Meijo Line. Hisaya-odori therefore combines immediate access to the park and tower with short subway trips to other central Nagoya landmarks.
Good to know
Hisaya-odori and Sakae are separate stations, one stop apart. Use Hisaya-odori for MIRAI TOWER and the park's northern side; Sakae is usually better for Oasis 21 and the main department-store blocks.
The underground exit network covers several blocks, and its numbering can be confusing. Check your exit before reaching street level, especially if you're carrying luggage.
