Toyama Station is the main transport hub for Toyama and the anchor for the Toyama Station Area. It is useful for travelers arriving by Shinkansen, connecting to local rail, using airport buses, boarding trams, or staying at a station-side hotel.

The station is served by the Hokuriku Shinkansen, JR Takayama Line services, and Ainokaze Toyama Railway. On the Ainokaze Toyama Railway Line, Toyama uses station number 09. Toyama Chihou Railway trams also serve the station area, connecting the south and north sides of the station with central districts and port-side routes.
Access Role
Toyama Airport buses connect the airport with Toyama Station in about 25 minutes. For city travel, trams are especially useful: they link the station with downtown stops, shopping, museum areas, and local neighborhoods, reducing the need to rely only on taxis or longer walks.
