Transport access and hotel guide

Overview

DoubleTree by Hilton Toyama is three minutes on foot from Toyama Station's South Exit. Its guest-only public bath and sauna are notable extras for travelers arriving by Shinkansen or airport bus.

It isn't linked directly to the concourse, so you'll need to step outside. The walk is brief. Once inside, you can have dinner, use the gym, or head straight to the bath.

Rooms

Standard choices include king and twin rooms, while the 26-square-meter Family King sleeps up to three. Deluxe rooms add a bathtub and rain shower. Premium rooms are on higher floors and come with a Nespresso machine.

The 52-square-meter Deluxe Suite has separate living and sleeping areas. Traditional paper and Toyama glasswork add local character without overwhelming the restrained design.

Facilities

The public bath, sauna, and 24-hour gym are on the fourth floor. Overnight guests can use all three at no extra charge.

The bath is shared rather than private, so anyone who prefers to bathe in the room should check the bathroom details for their chosen category. After a long rail journey, however, the larger bathing area and sauna are especially welcome.

Dining

The second-floor korare WINE AND DINE serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with menus centered on seasonal Toyama ingredients. korare BAR is on the same floor, and room service is available.

GRAB'n'GO Coffee & Deli is closed until further notice. Don't count on it for coffee or takeaway food before an early departure; check the restaurant hours or arrange something the night before.

Location and transport

The Toyama Station Area brings together the Hokuriku Shinkansen, JR Takayama Line, Ainokaze Toyama Railway, and local trams. Shopping and food inside the concourse are handy for a quick errand before departure or just after arrival.

Trams run through central Toyama and north toward Iwase, so many local journeys don't require a car. Taxis and buses are available nearby for destinations beyond the tram network.

Airport access

A direct bus connects Toyama Airport with the rail hub in about 25 minutes. The hotel is another three minutes on foot from the South Exit. There is no hotel airport shuttle, but the bus-and-walk journey is straightforward when its schedule matches your flight.

Why stay here

Frequent rail users get the most from this hotel. The short walk makes early departures and day trips manageable, and the on-site facilities give you somewhere to eat, exercise, or unwind after returning. Family rooms and suites give groups a wider choice of layouts.

For sightseeing, the tram serves Toyama Castle Park and the Glass Art Museum, while Fugan Canal Kansui Park is a short walk north of the tracks. You can combine these central sights with rail day trips and return to the hotel by tram.

Good to know

The walk from Toyama Station is outdoors, with no enclosed link. Drivers should also note that the hotel has no affiliated overnight parking, so they will need to use a nearby coin-operated lot.
