Transport access and hotel guide

Overview

With Toyama Station almost at the door, Hotel Vischio Toyama keeps arrivals, departures, and luggage-heavy transfers simple. The hotel occupies part of the MAROOT shopping complex, about one minute from the station's South Exit, with the Hokuriku Shinkansen, local rail, trams, and airport buses close by.

Toyama's character carries through the concept-floor design, artisan-made glassware, and breakfast. A guest lounge and public bath add more substance than a basic station-side overnight, while the Toyama Station Area location remains firmly focused on transport convenience.

Rooms

Room size changes the experience. Standard doubles and twins measure about 18 to 19 square meters, while Superior and Deluxe twins provide 25.4 and 30 square meters respectively. Deluxe rooms can accommodate a third guest with an extra bed.

Vischio twins are the largest option at 35.7 to 39.5 square meters and also sleep up to three guests. The 38.9-square-meter Premium Twin separates the living and sleeping areas. Larger twin categories have more independent bathroom layouts, and selected rooms look toward the Tateyama mountain range.

The Toyama concept floors occupy levels 6 through 11. Ceilings reach 280 centimeters, 30 centimeters higher than in standard rooms, while Tateyama-inspired carpets and drinking vessels made by local glass and ceramic artisans give these floors a distinct regional identity.

Facilities

The public bath faces a courtyard arranged in a Japanese garden style. The men's bath has a dry sauna, while the women's bath provides HAHONICO hair-care products.

On the fifth floor, the guest-only lounge supplies free drinks, sightseeing information, computers, and printers. Coin laundry is available nearby. That helps when Toyama is one stop on a longer trip.

Dining

Vischio Garden serves a buffet breakfast for overnight guests. Sushi chefs prepare all-you-can-eat nigiri using seafood associated with Toyama Bay, accompanied by Western breakfast dishes and regional foods such as Gokayama tofu.

At lunch and dinner, the same fourth-floor venue operates as Toyama Sushi Umi Toyama. Its sushi, seafood bowls, and seasonal dishes let guests try local fish without arranging a separate meal elsewhere in the city.

Location and transport

Toyama Station's South Exit is about one minute away. Direct Hokuriku Shinkansen trains connect Toyama with Tokyo, while journeys from Kansai or Nagoya now continue through Tsuruga before joining the Shinkansen.

The station also brings together local rail, city trams, and buses. Nearby Dentetsu-Toyama Station is the more relevant departure point for private-rail trips toward Tateyama or Unazuki Onsen, so check the operator before heading to the platforms.

Airport access

Buses connect Toyama Airport with Toyama Station in about 25 minutes. The station-area stop leaves only a short walk to the hotel after arrival.

Why stay here

An early Shinkansen, an airport-bus arrival, or a short city stop becomes easier with the one-minute station walk. The public bath and sushi breakfast add comfort and a distinct sense of place, although standard rooms remain compact.

From Toyama Station's North Exit, Fugan Canal Kansui Park is about nine minutes away, with lawns, waterfront paths, and views toward the Tateyama range. Toyama Castle Ruins Park is roughly ten minutes south on foot, placing both a waterside walk and central-city history within reach of the station area.

Good to know

The hotel is beside Toyama Station but isn't directly connected to the rail gates. The dry sauna is available in the men's bath only.

Drivers use the Times MAROOT parking garage within the complex. Hotel guests don't receive a parking discount, and a new charge begins each time a vehicle exits and re-enters.
