What this station is useful for

Overview

Beside the Okawa river, Temmabashi Station brings Keihan and Osaka Metro services together on the northwest side of Osaka Castle Area. It suits visits to the castle's Otemon side, riverfront walks, nearby hotels, and journeys along the Keihan corridor toward eastern Kyoto.

Lines and connections

Keihan serves Temmabashi as KH03 on the Main Line, between Kitahama and Kyobashi. Trains run west toward Yodoyabashi and east toward stations including Gion-shijo, Sanjo, and Demachiyanagi, although stopping patterns vary by train type. Nakanoshima Line services also use the station.

On the Osaka Metro Tanimachi Line, Temmabashi is T22. Higashi-Umeda is three stops away, while Tanimachi 4-chome is the next stop south and offers a transfer to the Chuo Line.

Station area

Keihan City Mall connects directly to the station, with everyday shopping, cafés, and restaurants. Nearby Hachikenya-hama Pier is used by Aqua-Liner river cruises, and the Okawa waterfront offers a pleasant walking route toward Osaka Castle Park.

Temmabashi serves the castle's northwest approaches rather than every part of the extensive grounds. DoubleTree by Hilton Osaka Castle is about five minutes away, and the Otemon Gate side of Osaka Castle Park is within walking distance.

Good to know

Keihan and Osaka Metro have separate platforms and gates within the station complex. Follow the operator signs when transferring. Before setting out, check which castle gate or venue you need, since Osaka Castle Park covers a large area.
