Overview
Tanimachi 4-chome Station is an Osaka Metro interchange in Chuo Ward and one of the main subway stations for the southwest side of Osaka Castle Area. It is useful for travelers visiting Osaka Castle Park, Naniwa Palace Ruins Park, the Osaka Museum of History, or Patina Osaka.
Lines and connections
The station is served by the Osaka Metro Tanimachi Line and Osaka Metro Chuo Line. The Tanimachi Line gives north-south subway access through central Osaka, while the Chuo Line gives east-west access toward Hommachi, Morinomiya, and Yumeshima-side routes.
Station area
Naniwa Palace Ruins Park is directly adjacent to the station, and Osaka Castle Park is about six minutes on foot from Exit 1-A. Patina Osaka is about 600 meters away, about eight minutes on foot.
Good to know
Tanimachi 4-chome is a better fit for Osaka Castle Area, Naniwa Palace Ruins Park, and the Osaka Museum of History than for Umeda, Namba, or Shin-Osaka hotel logistics. Travelers who want JR access on the east side of the castle area should also compare Morinomiya Station.
