Overview
The Okawa riverfront and the northwest side of Osaka Castle come together in Temmabashi. Hotel Keihan Temmabashi Ekimae is about one minute from Temmabashi Station via Keihan Exit 14 or Osaka Metro Exit 2. It is close, but not directly connected.
All 290 rooms are non-smoking, ranging from compact doubles to two larger Deluxe categories. Those Deluxe rooms can keep groups together when they might otherwise need to book two rooms.
Rooms
Room category makes a meaningful difference. The 16-square-meter Double has a combined bathroom and toilet. A 21-square-meter Twin sleeps up to three with an extra bed and separates the bathroom from the toilet, while the 24-square-meter Superior Twin gives two guests a little more floor space.
The Deluxe rooms introduced in March 2025 are a substantial step up. The 32-square-meter Deluxe Twin sleeps two to four, while the 48-square-meter Deluxe Fourth Room is designed for four to six. Both have in-room laundry, a microwave, and a refrigerator with freezer, helping groups manage longer stays without depending on the shared laundry. These rooms have shower booths rather than bathtubs.
Facilities
Self-service machines handle check-in and checkout. Luggage storage is available before check-in and after departure, and the first-floor amenity bar lets guests take the toiletries they need.
Guests in standard rooms can use detergent-free washer-dryers on the first floor. Availability is displayed in real time, so you don't have to keep returning to check whether a machine is free.
Dining
Italian Buffet Grand Canal serves breakfast and lunch, but not dinner. Breakfast runs from 7:00 to 10:00, with more than 60 choices spanning Italian-style hot and cold dishes, cured meats, and bread.
At lunch, a pasta or meat main comes with an appetizer buffet and drink bar. For dinner, the station area and connected Keihan City Mall provide nearby restaurants, cafes, and a basement supermarket.
Location and transport
Keihan and the Tanimachi Line serve different parts of the trip. Keihan trains run west to Yodoyabashi. Eastbound services pass Kyobashi and continue toward eastern Kyoto, including Fushimi-inari and Gion-shijo, depending on the train.
The Tanimachi Line reaches Higashi-Umeda in three stops, followed by a short walk to Osaka Station. It also runs directly south to Tennoji. Reaching Shin-Osaka Station requires a transfer; the hotel's suggested route changes at Yodoyabashi between Keihan and the Midosuji Line.
Airport access
From Kansai International Airport, the hotel's suggested route uses the JR Kansai-Airport Rapid to Tennoji, followed by the Tanimachi Line to Temmabashi. It requires one transfer.
From Osaka International Airport, take an airport bus to the Osaka Station area, walk to Higashi-Umeda, and continue on the Tanimachi Line. Neither airport has a hotel-door shuttle.
Why stay here
Osaka sightseeing and Keihan day trips can share the same station. The short walk simplifies daily departures, while the Deluxe rooms keep four to six guests together and add in-room laundry. The tradeoff is clear: airport journeys and the trip to Shin-Osaka still require a transfer.
Temmabashi adds riverfront walks and cruises to an Osaka Castle Area stay. Hachikenya-hama Pier connects directly to station Exit 2 and serves sightseeing cruises, while Osaka Castle Museum and Nishinomaru Garden lie within the broader park. A castle visit can therefore include both walking and boat plans.
Good to know
Hotel Keihan Temmabashi Ekimae and Hotel Keihan Temmabashi are different places. Double-check the name before following directions, and don't use JR Temma Station; the nearest stop is Temmabashi.
On-site parking is limited to six first-come spaces and has a 1.55-meter height limit. Drivers with taller vehicles will need another garage.
