Overview
Two subway exits open directly into Nakajima Park. Nakajima Koen Station, N09 on the Namboku Line, serves the park's northern edge and the hotel district just south of Susukino. Susukino, Odori, and Sapporo Station are all north of here on the same line.
Above ground, the park gives the neighborhood a different character from Susukino's entertainment core. Restaurants, shopping, and nightlife remain only a short subway ride away.
Lines and connections
Northbound travel is simple. Susukino Station is the next stop, followed by Odori, while Sapporo Station is three stops from Nakajima Koen. Change at Odori for the Tozai and Toho subway lines, or continue to Sapporo for JR trains and New Chitose Airport rail services.
Southbound trains travel through Horohira-bashi toward Makomanai. This direction mainly serves addresses and attractions farther south rather than central Sapporo trips.
Station area
Exits 1 and 3 are within the park. Hotels line the northern and eastern sides of the Sapporo-Nakajima Park neighborhood, so the most convenient exit depends on where you're staying. InterContinental Sapporo is about four minutes from Exit 1, between the park and the Toyohira River.
What's nearby
The park is the main reason to stop. Paths wind past Shobu Pond, while Hoheikan and Sapporo Concert Hall Kitara add history and performances to the green space. Each season changes the experience, from spring blossoms and autumn color to cross-country skiing in winter.
Good to know
Nakajima Koen has no JR service. For JR departures or the airport train, take the Namboku Line to Sapporo Station and change systems there.
Nakajima Park extends south to Horohira-bashi Station, which may be closer to destinations near the park's lower end. Check the entrance named by your hotel or venue rather than assuming Nakajima Koen is nearest to every point around the park.
