Overview
Between Nakajima Park and the Toyohira River, InterContinental Sapporo occupies floors 9 to 14 of Lilac Square, about four minutes on foot from Nakajima Koen Station. The 149-room hotel opened in October 2025, just south of Susukino.
Susukino is one subway stop away. Odori and Sapporo Station are farther north on the same Namboku Line, keeping central trips straightforward. JR journeys and airport-train transfers still require a subway ride or taxi.
Rooms
Classic rooms measure 42 to 43 square meters and come with king or twin beds. Premium rooms provide 50 to 58 square meters, while suites range from 72 square meters to the 160-square-meter Serenity Suite.
Even the entry-level rooms leave generous space for luggage and downtime compared with many central city rooms. Outlooks depend on the floor and orientation: east-facing rooms overlook the Toyohira River, while others face the city or park. If the view matters, check the room category before booking.
Facilities
The ninth floor has a 20-meter heated indoor pool overlooking the city, while the fitness center is open around the clock. Both provide a welcome indoor option during winter or between days out in Sapporo.
Club InterContinental occupies the top floor. Premium and Suite bookings include access, private check-in, breakfast, and evening refreshments. Here, an upgrade changes more than the amount of floor space.
Dining
AuBlanc serves breakfast through dinner, combining casual French cooking with bread from its bakery. SAWAKA focuses on contemporary Japanese courses at a chef's counter, while Norva shifts from afternoon tea to lounge and bar service later in the day.
You don't have to visit Susukino for every meal. Together, the three venues cover an early breakfast, a planned dinner, and drinks after returning from the city.
Location and transport
Exit 1 of Nakajima Koen Station is about four minutes away on foot. From there, the Namboku Line reaches Susukino in one stop before continuing through Odori to Sapporo. Downtown and the main rail hub are therefore on one subway line.
For longer JR journeys, continue to Sapporo Station. That adds a local connection compared with staying beside the main rail hub, but the hotel remains close to central Sapporo while placing Nakajima Park at the heart of the stay.
Airport access
Airport trains take about 40 minutes from New Chitose Airport to Sapporo Station. From there, continue by Namboku Line subway to Nakajima Koen or take a taxi to the hotel.
Airport buses also stop near Nakajima Park, but the hotel doesn't provide a complimentary local shuttle. If you're carrying substantial luggage, compare the current bus timetable with the train-and-taxi route before choosing.
Why stay here
Rooms starting at 42 square meters, a heated indoor pool, and full-service dining provide more breathing room than a simple station-side overnight. The tradeoff is an additional subway or taxi connection for JR trains and airport transfers.
Nakajima Park brings a pond, historic buildings, Concert Hall Kitara, and seasonal walking routes into the immediate neighborhood. In winter, the park also provides a cross-country skiing course with free equipment, adding an outdoor activity without leaving central Sapporo.

Club InterContinental access is limited to Premium and Suite bookings. On-site parking is paid, available on a first-come basis, and cannot be reserved.
