Overview
Kencho-mae Station is a Yui Rail station in central Naha, close to Kumoji, the Okinawa Prefectural Office, Naha City Hall, Palette Kumoji, and the western side of Naha-Kokusai Dori. It is one of the most convenient monorail stops for visitors staying near the city's government offices or the Kokusai-dori area.
Lines and station number
Kencho-mae is served by the Okinawa Urban Monorail, commonly known as Yui Rail, and is numbered station 07. The line links Naha Airport with central Naha, Shuri, and Urasoe, making it possible to reach this part of the city from the airport without taking a taxi.
Station area
The station is useful for hotels around Kumoji, the western entrance to Kokusai-dori, Palette Kumoji, office visits, and shopping or dining walks. Asahibashi Station and Miebashi Station are nearby on either side of the Yui Rail corridor, so the best stop depends on your exact hotel or destination.
Good to know
Okinawa does not have JR, Shinkansen, or subway service. For trips beyond the Yui Rail corridor, plan on using buses, taxis, rental cars, ferries, or hotel transport rather than expecting mainland-style rail coverage.
