Overview

One stop from Nagoya Station, Kamejima Station is a smaller Higashiyama Line stop on the west side of the Nagoya Station Area. It gives nearby hotels and attractions a quieter subway entrance than the main rail complex, while JR, Shinkansen, Meitetsu, and Kintetsu connections remain a short ride away.

Lines and connections

Eastbound Higashiyama Line trains run through Nagoya toward Sakae and Fujigaoka. Westbound services continue toward Nakamura Park and Takabata.

For anyone staying nearby, the one-stop ride to Nagoya Station is the key connection. That's where long-distance rail, airport trains, and the wider city network come together.

Station area

Kamejima has east and west ticket gates, four street exits, and a separate elevator entrance. Exit 3 is the official approach for Richmond Hotel Nagoya Shinkansenguchi, about five minutes away on foot.

The neighborhood feels more local than the towers and department stores around the main station. It's still close enough for stays planned around the Shinkansen, though the final walk and subway entrance are outside the main rail complex.

What's nearby

Noritake Garden is about five minutes from Exit 2. Its craft center and museum cover the history and production of Noritake ceramics, while the grounds also have a painting workshop, tableware shops, a restaurant, and a cafe. The Toyota Commemorative Museum of Industry and Technology is another substantial museum in the wider station-side district.

Good to know

Kamejima doesn't serve the Shinkansen or airport trains. Use it for the Higashiyama Line and nearby west-side addresses, then travel one stop to Nagoya when your plans depend on JR trains, the Shinkansen, Meitetsu service to Centrair, or Kintetsu routes.
