BEB5 Mojiko by Hoshino Resorts opened on July 24, 2026, in the Mojiko Retro district of Kitakyushu, Fukuoka Prefecture. The 119-room hotel is Hoshino Resorts’ first property in the prefecture and stands four minutes on foot from JR Mojiko Station.
The hotel occupies the third through 10th floors of a 10-story building. All guest rooms face the Kanmon Strait and feature either a window-side daybed or a round sofa. Interiors use deep blue tones inspired by the strait, with cushions and artwork made using Kokura-ori, a traditional textile from Kitakyushu.
One room type, the Strait Sauna Room with Terrace, includes a private dry sauna, aromatic water for self-service löyly, a cold bath on the terrace and chairs for cooling outdoors. Guests can also use the BEB brand’s first large communal bath, a top-floor semi-open-air facility with an infinity-style design facing the strait. It includes secluded tubs and reclining baths.
The top-floor TAMARIBA common area remains open 24 hours and contains a café and shop. Guests may bring their own food and drinks into the space. Its MIZUBA rooftop terrace is also accessible around the clock, with views across the Kanmon Strait toward Kanmon Bridge and Shimonoseki.
The hotel restaurant centers on a Noodle Bar Buffet, where diners can combine noodle dishes from Japan and other Asian countries with a selection of soups and toppings. The live kitchen serves beef teppanyaki at dinner and freshly prepared banana French toast at breakfast.
Scheduled activities include a sunset program signaled by a ship’s bell and featuring a sabrage performance. In the evening, TAMARIBA becomes the Retro Night Lounge, serving café-style melon soda and pudding and offering a typewriter experience inspired by Mojiko’s history as an international trading port.
Rates start at 13,600 yen for one night based on two guests sharing a room, including tax but excluding meals. The hotel is located at 1-4-44 Nishikaigan, Moji Ward, Kitakyushu, and has 25 paid parking spaces on site, with additional parking available through a nearby partner facility.
