Why stay here

Overview

Tokyo-Odaiba occupies reclaimed land in Tokyo Bay around Daiba and Aomi. Come for parks and shopping by the water, or stay overnight to see Rainbow Bridge after dark. Central Tokyo is a separate train journey away.

Main places

Odaiba Marine Park has a beach and waterfront paths overlooking Rainbow Bridge. AQUA CiTY ODAIBA and DiverCity Tokyo Plaza have shops and restaurants, while Miraikan, the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation, is farther south.

There's plenty to do indoors, too. DECKS Tokyo Beach houses Tokyo Joypolis and Legoland Discovery Center Tokyo, so rain doesn't have to cut the day short.

Stations and access

Daiba Station is on the Yurikamome and serves the waterfront hotels, with direct trains to Shimbashi and Toyosu. At Shimbashi, change for JR and subway journeys into central Tokyo.

Tokyo Teleport Station serves the Rinkai Line near DiverCity. Through trains from Shibuya and Shinjuku avoid a change at Shimbashi, although the walk from Tokyo Teleport to the waterfront hotels is longer.

Where it fits in a trip

Staying overnight leaves time for dinner and an evening walk along the bay. Grand Nikko Tokyo Daiba connects directly to Daiba Station, while the Yurikamome provides rail access to Tokyo Big Sight and the Toyosu waterfront.

Good to know

Swimming isn't allowed at Odaiba Marine Park's beach. Treat it as a waterfront walking stop rather than a swimming beach.
