Overview
An underground link at basement level connects The Capitol Hotel Tokyu to Tameike-sanno Station and Kokkai-gijidomae Station, where four Tokyo Metro lines meet beneath the building. The location places the hotel between Nagatacho's government quarter and Tokyo-Akasaka.
All 251 rooms measure at least 44.8 square meters and follow a Japanese-modern design. That minimum applies even to the entry categories. High-floor city views, several restaurants, and extensive wellness facilities make it easy to spend part of the day here rather than treating the hotel only as a place to sleep.
Rooms
Deluxe King and Hollywood Twin rooms measure 44.8 square meters. Premier categories expand to roughly 58 to 64 square meters, and selected Premier rooms can accommodate an extra bed for a third guest. Connecting Family rooms combine two bedrooms across 102.6 square meters for groups of four or five.
Shoji screens, sliding partitions, and wide windows shape the rooms. Some overlook the National Diet Building or the Tokyo skyline. Club rooms occupy floors 27 to 29 and include access to The Capitol Lounge SaRyoh, while suites range from 64.5 to 223.4 square meters.
Facilities
The fitness club spans the 14th and 15th floors, with a gym, 20-meter indoor pool, jacuzzi, and sauna. Overnight guests can use the gym and pool without an extra charge. The relaxation area, baths, and sauna cost extra for standard-room guests but are included with club-floor rooms and suites.
A separate spa provides paid treatments. The business center and concierge can assist with working days, restaurant bookings, and ticket arrangements, while underground parking is available for a fee.
Dining
All Day Dining Origami serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, including dishes carried over from the former Capitol Tokyu Hotel. Suiren covers several styles of Japanese dining, from kaiseki to sushi and teppanyaki, while Star Hill specializes in Chinese cuisine.
The Capitol Bar and Lounge Origami provide drinks and lighter options after returning to the hotel. Room service is available when a busy day makes another trip across the city unappealing, and the pastry boutique sells bread and sweets to take away.
Location and transport
Exit 6 connects the hotel directly to the Tameike-sanno and Kokkai-gijidomae station complex. The Namboku and Chiyoda platforms provide the closest approaches. Reaching the hotel from the Ginza Line involves about 220 meters inside the station, while the Marunouchi Line route is about 435 meters.
The Ginza and Marunouchi lines cover many common trips toward Shibuya, Ginza, Tokyo Station, and Shinjuku. Chiyoda and Namboku services add direct routes toward central Akasaka, Omote-sando, Roppongi-itchome, and Meguro. JR trains and Shinkansen services still require a subway or taxi connection.
Airport access
A limousine bus links Narita Airport with the hotel, with a published standard journey of about 80 to 120 minutes. Road traffic can change that timing.
The hotel-door limousine service from Haneda Airport is currently suspended. Haneda arrivals therefore require rail with a transfer, a taxi, or a prearranged hire car.
Why stay here
Arriving beneath the building removes rain and street crossings from most subway journeys, while the unusually large standard rooms leave more space for luggage and downtime. JR and Shinkansen journeys, however, still begin with a subway or taxi connection.
Hie Shrine is directly behind the hotel, with wooded grounds and a staircase lined by red torii gates. Farther west, Akasaka's backstreets add restaurants, bars, and Akasaka Sacas to the wider neighborhood.
Good to know
The direct Exit 6 route isn't step-free. For wheelchairs and strollers, the hotel advises using the elevator at Exit 7 and approaching at street level, a walk of about five minutes.
The fitness club has age and tattoo restrictions. The gym is limited to guests aged 18 and over, although those aged 13 to 17 may use the pool with parental supervision. Guests with tattoos aren't admitted unless the hotel approves them as fashion tattoos.
