Overview
Nishitetsu Grand Hotel opened in 1969 on the Daimyo side of Fukuoka-Tenjin. The hotel has 279 rooms and is about five minutes on foot from both Tenjin Station and Nishitetsu Fukuoka (Tenjin) Station. Several restaurants and substantial meeting and banquet facilities distinguish it from the compact business hotels found across the city.

Room choices include singles, doubles, twins, triples, and suites. Solo guests have straightforward options, while couples, families, and groups of friends have a wider choice of layouts. Check-in begins at 3:00 pm, and checkout is by 11:00 am.

Paid parking is available on site, and a business corner handles simple work needs. The larger conference and banquet rooms are helpful when a meeting, reception, or other event needs to take place in the same building as the accommodation.
Dining
Grand Cafe serves breakfast from 7:00 am and overlooks the garden and waterfall created when the hotel opened. Dinner ranges from Japanese and French restaurants to more casual Chinese and Italian venues.
Location and transport
The hotel is in Daimyo, just west of central Tenjin's department stores and underground shopping streets. From Tenjin Station, the Airport Line runs directly to Hakata Station and Fukuoka Airport. Nishitetsu Fukuoka (Tenjin) Station has trains toward Kurume and Yanagawa, while Dazaifu requires a change at Nishitetsu Futsukaichi. Tenjin-minami Station adds a second subway route to Hakata via the Nanakuma Line.
Airport access
From Fukuoka Airport's domestic terminal, the Airport Line reaches Tenjin in about 11 minutes, followed by a walk of roughly five minutes to the hotel. International arrivals first take the airport's free shuttle bus to the domestic terminal area, where the subway station connects directly to the terminal building.
Why stay here
For trips centered on Tenjin, the hotel puts Daimyo's smaller shops, cafes, restaurants, and bars nearby. Tenjin Chikagai extends the shopping area beneath central Tenjin and links the district's main subway and rail stations. Back at the hotel, the restaurants and function rooms are particularly useful for business meetings, family gatherings, or evenings when dinner on site is easier.
Good to know
There is no direct station connection, so allow about five minutes for the final walk. Tenjin has three similarly named transport points: use Tenjin Station for the Airport Line, Tenjin-minami for the Nanakuma Line, and Nishitetsu Fukuoka (Tenjin) for Nishitetsu trains. Shinkansen passengers still need to travel through Hakata Station.
1-minute walk
