Overview
About four minutes from the north exit of Kanayama Station, Meitetsu Inn Nagoya Kanayama provides straightforward connections across Nagoya and to Chubu Centrair International Airport. Subway Exit 6 is two minutes away, while JR trains offer a quick ride to Nagoya Station.
The 235-room hotel focuses on the essentials: included breakfast, free Wi-Fi, and mostly compact single or double rooms. Asunal Kanayama is near the north exit, so casual meals and everyday shopping don't require another train journey.
Rooms
Single rooms measure 12 square meters and have a 123-centimeter-wide bed. Double rooms provide more floor space and a 140-centimeter bed, though they remain compact. Both types come in smoking and non-smoking categories, so check the room label carefully before booking.
The top-floor Moderate Twin is the most spacious standard option, with 24 square meters, two separate beds, and separate rooms for the bath and toilet. The 24-square-meter Universal Twin provides wider circulation space and bathroom handrails. Every room has a Simmons bed and free Wi-Fi.
Facilities
The front desk can store baggage from the morning of arrival until the evening of departure. On the first floor, an amenity corner and small comic library let staying guests borrow up to five manga for their rooms.
Two washing machines and two dryers are available on the 11th floor. That's limited capacity for 235 rooms, so avoid leaving laundry until late on a busy evening. Drivers use nearby paid parking rather than an on-site car park.
Dining
An included Japanese and Western buffet is served in the first-floor breakfast room from 6:30 to 9:30, with last admission at 9:15. Familiar staples are joined by a few changing dishes.
Guests can use the provided container to take breakfast back to their room, but food cannot be carried outside the hotel. There is no advertised lunch or dinner service. Asunal Kanayama and the surrounding streets provide plenty of alternatives within a short walk.
Location and transport
The hotel is on the north side of Nagoya-Kanayama, near one of Nagoya's main transport interchanges. Kanayama is served by the JR Tokaido and Chuo main lines, the Meitetsu Nagoya Main Line, and the Meijo and Meiko subway lines.
JR trains reach Nagoya Station in about four minutes for Tokaido Shinkansen connections. The Meijo Line runs directly toward Sakae, the Meiko Line serves Nagoya Port, and Atsuta Jingu is one short Meitetsu ride away. JR, Meitetsu, and subway services use separate gates, so follow the operator signs when changing systems.
Airport access
Meitetsu's Mu-Sky runs directly between Kanayama and Chubu Centrair International Airport in about 24 minutes. The hotel is then around four minutes from the station's north exit.
There is no hotel airport shuttle. Mu-Sky requires a first-class car ticket in addition to the regular fare, and journey times vary by service.
Why stay here
A direct Centrair train, a brief JR ride to Nagoya Station, and included breakfast simplify airport stopovers and short stays built around public transport. The main tradeoff is room size: singles and doubles favor price and efficiency over space.
After a day out, Asunal Kanayama brings shops, restaurants, and an event space to the station's north side. The subway also reaches central districts directly, without requiring a return to Nagoya Station.
Good to know
Check-in begins at 3:00 PM, and check-out is by 10:00 AM. The four-minute route from the station is outdoors, and the hotel has no car park of its own.
Both smoking and non-smoking rooms are sold. Confirm the selected category before payment, particularly when booking through a third-party site.
