Overview
About one minute from Nagoya Sakae Station, KOKO HOTEL Nagoya Sakae has 204 rooms and classical, retro-modern interiors. Its position in Nagoya-Sakae keeps department stores, underground shopping passages, and the Oasis 21 side of the district close enough to plan the day without another train ride.
The room range is broader than at the usual double-focused business hotel, although most categories remain compact. The location does most of the work.
Rooms
All 204 rooms are non-smoking. Nine categories range from a 13-square-meter semi-double to a 45-square-meter junior suite. The largest single category is the 14-square-meter Comfort Double, so compact dimensions are typical rather than exceptional.
Twin rooms range from 16 to 27 square meters. The junior suite accommodates up to three guests with two beds and a sofa bed, and it has separate washbasin, bathroom, and toilet areas. Families or friends get more breathing room here than in the standard unit-bath rooms.
Facilities
A meeting room accommodates up to 28 people for small business sessions or group briefings. The 24-hour front desk, shared microwave, and ice machine cover everyday needs, while paid laundry service is available on most weekdays.
Luggage storage is limited to the check-in and check-out dates. There's also a lobby amenity bar stocked with items such as toiletries, tea, and coffee.
Dining
Breakfast is served at ALLY'S from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Its buffet features more than 50 items, mixing Western dishes, Japanese small plates, salads, and Nagoya specialties.
Breakfast is the focus of in-house dining. For lunch, dinner, or drinks, Sakae's department stores and surrounding streets offer a much wider choice within the neighborhood.
Location and transport
Sakae Station Exit 3 is about one minute away and serves the Higashiyama and Meijo subway lines. Sakaemachi Station on the Meitetsu Seto Line is also about one minute away, while Hisaya-odori Station is roughly five minutes on foot.
The Higashiyama Line reaches the city's main Shinkansen hub in two stops. Long-distance connections are manageable, but they aren't beside the hotel. Allow time for the subway ride and the walk through the station when catching a train.
Airport access
The hotel's rail route from Chubu Centrair International Airport takes about 55 minutes. It involves a Meitetsu limited express to Kanayama, followed by the Meijo Line to Sakae and the short walk from Exit 3.
An airport bus to Oasis 21 is another option. The hotel estimates about 65 minutes on the bus, followed by a five-minute walk. Neither route reaches the hotel door, and the bus is more exposed to road delays.
Why stay here
The one-minute station walk simplifies Sakae shopping, evening plans, and subway trips, while the wider twin rooms and junior suite give small groups an alternative to compact doubles. The tradeoff is transfer-based airport and Shinkansen travel rather than direct service at the hotel.
Sakae is one of Nagoya's main shopping and entertainment districts. Oasis 21, Hisaya-odori Park, and Chubu Electric Power MIRAI TOWER form the best-known landmark cluster nearby, with cafes, shops, and public spaces extending north of the hotel.
Good to know
Check-in begins at 3:00 PM, and check-out is at 11:00 AM. Standard room cleaning takes place once every three days, while luggage storage is available only on the dates of check-in and check-out.
There is no parking inside the hotel. Drivers can use nearby paid parking, including an affiliated car park whose discounted rate must be settled through the front desk.
