Overview
Tenjin's transport network is split among separate subway, private-rail, and bus stations. On the Imaizumi side of Fukuoka-Tenjin, KOKO HOTEL Fukuoka Tenjin is about four minutes from Tenjin-minami Station and three minutes from Nishitetsu trains and the Tenjin Expressway Bus Terminal. Shops, restaurants, and nightlife fill the surrounding blocks, while Hakata's Shinkansen platforms are a short subway ride away.
This is a compact city stay with 159 non-smoking rooms and a modest selection of shared facilities.
Rooms
Most rooms are designed for one or two guests. Standard Doubles measure 15 square meters, Superior Doubles 18 square meters, and Queen and Standard Twin rooms 20 square meters. These main categories have private baths, while the double and queen layouts also include desks. The smallest rooms leave limited floor space for large suitcases.
Room size matters here. The 29-square-meter Hollywood Twin gives two guests more space, while two 31-square-meter King rooms on the top floor add either an outdoor terrace or an outdoor whirlpool. A 28-square-meter Universal Twin has a step-free layout for wheelchair access. The King rooms and Universal Twin must be reserved by phone.
Facilities
Coin laundry and vending machines are on the second floor. Guests can leave luggage on check-in and check-out days, pick up selected toiletries and drinks from the lobby amenity bar, and use a shared microwave. These cover everyday needs, but there isn't a broader range of leisure facilities.
The hotel has no parking. If you're driving, plan to use a nearby paid car park. Most guests won't need a car, since three rail stations and the Tenjin bus terminal are close by.
Location and transport
Tenjin-minami Station is the closest stop, with direct Nanakuma Line service to Hakata Station. Nishitetsu Fukuoka (Tenjin) Station is about three minutes away for southbound trains, and the expressway bus terminal is also about three minutes from the hotel.
Tenjin Station on the Airport Line is about nine minutes away on foot. The West 12b exit of Tenjin Chikagai is much closer, about two minutes from the hotel, but the underground walk to the Airport Line platforms adds distance. Check the exact station and line before setting out. Although the three Tenjin stations serve the same district, their platforms and entrances are separate.
Airport access
The Airport Line runs directly between Tenjin Station and Fukuoka Airport's domestic terminal. Including the walk from the hotel, the full journey takes about 25 minutes. Alternatively, take the Nanakuma Line from Tenjin-minami to Hakata and change there to the Airport Line.
International passengers need to use the airport's free shuttle between the international and domestic terminals to reach the subway. There is no hotel-door airport shuttle.
Why stay here
Tenjin's shops, restaurants, nightlife, and Nishitetsu departures are the clearest reasons to stay here. Tenjin-minami also keeps Hakata within one direct subway ride, although an early Shinkansen departure is still simpler from a hotel beside Hakata Station. Compact standard rooms and the lack of parking are the main tradeoffs.
Beyond the hotel, Tenjin Chikagai connects the central retail blocks below street level, while Tenjin Nishi-Dori and the smaller streets toward Daimyo add boutiques and restaurants. Tenjin is also one of Fukuoka's established areas for evening food stalls, so dinner doesn't have to depend on hotel dining.
Good to know
The hotel is close to several stations but isn't directly connected to any of them. Tenjin-minami serves the Nanakuma Line, Tenjin Station serves the Airport Line, and Nishitetsu Fukuoka (Tenjin) handles private-rail services. Choosing the correct line and exit matters, especially with luggage.
