The sail-shaped InterContinental Yokohama Grand rises beside Pacifico Yokohama's convention halls, about five minutes on foot from Minatomirai Station. Its waterfront setting in Yokohama-Minatomirai places Rinko Park and the port immediately around the complex.
This is a large, full-service hotel centered on views, dining, events, and direct airport buses. The location favors Pacifico appointments and time around Minato Mirai rather than the shortest possible walk to a major JR or Shinkansen station.
Rooms
Room views matter here. Harbor View rooms face Yokohama Port and the Bay Bridge, while City View rooms look toward the Ferris wheel, Red Brick Warehouse, and Minato Mirai's lights. Rear-facing Cozy and accessible rooms don't have those waterfront or skyline outlooks.
The hotel has 594 rooms, ranging from 27-square-metre Cozy and accessible rooms to 31-square-metre Classic kings and 38-square-metre Premium rooms. Suites start at 64 square metres, with separate living space in selected layouts, while the Royal Suite reaches 150 square metres.
Club InterContinental rooms add private check-in, lounge access, breakfast, afternoon service, and evening cocktails. Category differences are substantial, so compare the exact view, floor, bed arrangement, and lounge eligibility before booking.
Facilities
Spa Bay Window provides hotel-run treatments in rooms overlooking the port. The Harbor View Fitness Club has an indoor heated pool, training equipment, and whirlpool baths, but hotel guests use it under separate access terms rather than as a standard complimentary facility.
Pool use is limited to guests aged 18 and over. The connection with Pacifico Yokohama, extensive event rooms, and a business center also support conferences and business stays.
Dining
Ocean Terrace is the main buffet and breakfast venue, with an open kitchen and waterfront windows. Other restaurants specialize in French, Chinese, or Japanese cuisine. Waterfront and upper-floor lounges serve afternoon tea and drinks alongside Minato Mirai night views.
Around-the-clock in-room dining is helpful after a late arrival or a full day at the convention center. Club guests can also have breakfast and evening drinks in the dedicated lounge.
Location and transport
Minatomirai Station is the closest rail stop, about five minutes away on foot. The Minatomirai Line connects with Yokohama Station for JR, Keikyu, Sotetsu, and wider regional services. In the other direction, trains continue toward the historic port district and Nihon-odori Station.
Sakuragicho Station is about 12 minutes away on foot and provides JR and Yokohama Municipal Subway services. For the Tokaido Shinkansen, continue through the local network to Shin-Yokohama Station; the hotel isn't directly connected to the bullet-train platforms.
Airport access
Airport limousine buses call at the hotel entrance. The Haneda route serves the Minato Mirai district in both directions, while Narita services connect the hotel with the airport as part of the wider Yokohama and YCAT route.
The hotel estimates journeys of about 45 minutes from Haneda and 100 minutes from Narita, although traffic and the selected service affect travel time. Check the current timetable and airport terminal stop before departure, especially for an outbound flight.
Why stay here
The five-minute station walk, hotel-door airport buses, Pacifico location, and broad dining selection simplify arrival days and convention schedules. The tradeoff is clear: Minatomirai Station isn't inside the hotel, and Shinkansen journeys still require a connection.
Beyond the hotel, Rinko Park opens onto the port, while Cosmo World and the Cup Noodles Museum provide family-friendly waterfront stops. Yokohama Hammerhead and the Red Brick Warehouse extend the route toward the Shinko piers for shopping, dining, and harbor walks.
Good to know
Check-in begins at 3:00 PM, and checkout is by 11:00 AM. Guest parking is available in the paid Minatomirai Public Parking Lot beneath Pacifico Yokohama, with Block A closest to the hotel tower.
There is no direct connection to Minatomirai Station. Fitness-club and pool access also comes with separate terms, including a minimum age, so check the current conditions if those facilities are important to your stay.
