Overview
Hotel Niwa Tokyo is located in Kanda-Misakicho, in the Tokyo-Iidabashi / Suidobashi area. Rooms have shoji screens and wooden interiors, and four gardens provide outdoor spaces to visit during a stay. Tokyo Dome City is about five minutes away on foot, with JR and subway routes nearby for trips farther across Tokyo.
Rooms
Standard Queen and Twin rooms measure 18 square metres. Superior King and Twin rooms provide 24 square metres and have work desks. For three guests, the 30-square-metre Deluxe Twin can accommodate an extra bed on request and has wider beds than the Standard and Superior Twins.
The two 36-square-metre twin categories differ mainly in their bathrooms and interiors. Premium Twins have a whirlpool bath and separate shower. Signature Twins feature tatami flooring, shoji screens and a hiba-wood bath, and guests remove their shoes before entering. If the bath matters to you, compare the categories rather than choosing by room size alone.
Facilities
The third-floor Refresh Lounge is open around the clock. It has a small tatami area and library beside a terrace garden with flowing water, giving guests somewhere to read or unwind outside their rooms. A separate relaxation room contains three free massage chairs, while the rooftop terrace looks across central Tokyo.
For longer stays, the third-floor laundry has paid, cashless washers and dryers available 24 hours a day. The small fitness room contains four cardio machines and yoga mats and is open from 6am to 10pm. You'll need to bring your own exercise clothes and shoes.
Dining
Two restaurants face the courtyard. Dining LIEU serves casual French food and a Western-style breakfast buffet, while Japanese Cuisine YUKURI offers seasonal kaiseki meals and a Japanese breakfast available in limited quantities. Check whether breakfast is included in your booking.
Both restaurants sometimes open for breakfast only. If you're planning to have lunch or dinner at the hotel, check the current schedule first.
Location and transport
Suidobashi Station is about four minutes away via the JR East Exit and five minutes away via the Toei Mita Line's A1 Exit. These are separate entrances. JR Chuo-Sobu local trains run directly to Shinjuku and Akihabara, while the Mita Line reaches Otemachi and Hibiya without a change.
Jimbocho Station's A5 Exit is around eight minutes away on foot. The Hanzomon and Toei Shinjuku lines provide additional routes, including direct Hanzomon Line trains to Shibuya.
Airport access
From Haneda Airport, take a Keikyu train that continues onto the Toei Asakusa Line to Mita, then change to the Mita Line for Suidobashi. Not every Keikyu service follows this route, so check the train's destination before boarding.
From Narita Airport, taking the Skyliner to Keisei-Ueno and continuing by taxi avoids further rail changes. The taxi ride takes around 15 minutes depending on traffic.
Why stay here
Tokyo Dome City is within walking distance, and the nearby JR and subway routes cover sightseeing farther across the city. You can return for a break in the lounge or gardens between outings. Standard rooms are smaller, so compare the larger categories if you're staying longer or sharing with someone and need more room for luggage.
Jimbocho's secondhand bookshops are about eight minutes away on foot. Its cafes and curry restaurants make the neighborhood worth exploring beyond the shops, and you can spend part of a day there without taking a train.
Good to know
Deluxe Twins have balconies, but guests can't access them from the rooms. The rooftop terrace closes from 10pm to 8am.
