Overview
Hotel Forza Nagoya Sakae is among the department-store blocks at the southern end of Nagoya-Sakae. Yabacho Station is about five minutes away, while Nagoya Sakae Station is roughly seven minutes away in the other direction.
The location favors shopping, meals, and subway trips rather than a full-service stay or immediate Shinkansen access. All 195 rooms are non-smoking, and the range of doubles and twins extends beyond the usual compact business-hotel format.
Rooms
Eleven room types range from 18-square-metre singles and doubles to 29.5-square-metre Deluxe Twins. Standard double rooms have a unit bath, while Deluxe and Superior doubles separate the bath, toilet, and washbasin.
All four twin categories also have separate bath, toilet, and washbasin areas. Two travelers therefore get a less compact bathroom layout, and the Superior Twin can accommodate a third adult on a sofa bed. Selected categories add a massage chair, foot massager, face steamer, or clothing-care equipment, so it's worth comparing the details rather than choosing by bed type alone.
Facilities
The guest lounge beside the breakfast room is open from late morning until midnight. Free coffee is available from a lobby machine, and hotel guests can use the self-service wine dispenser during its evening hours.
Rooms come with a humidifying air purifier, multi-device charger, refrigerator, kettle, and television casting. Relaxation equipment varies by category and isn't standard throughout the hotel.
Dining
A paid breakfast buffet is served on the third floor from 6:30 to 10:30, with last orders at 10:00. Alongside familiar Japanese and Western dishes, the selection features local choices such as miso katsu and the hotel's ankake spaghetti.
There isn't a full-service restaurant for lunch or dinner. The lounge remains open after breakfast, while the surrounding Sakae streets have a broader choice of department-store dining, cafes, and evening meals.
Location and transport
The hotel is about five minutes on foot from Exits 5 and 6 of Yabacho Station on the Meijo Line. Nagoya Sakae Station is about seven minutes from Exit 16 and adds the Higashiyama Line, the most direct subway route toward Nagoya Station.
Matsuzakaya Nagoya and Nagoya PARCO anchor the surrounding shopping blocks. The hotel estimates a walk of about nine minutes to Nagoya City Science Museum and 11 minutes to Osu Shopping Street. It lies between Sakae's department stores and the livelier mix of shops and food farther south.
Airport access
There is no direct airport train or hotel shuttle. The hotel's suggested route from Chubu Centrair International Airport uses a Meitetsu airport limited express to Kanayama, followed by the Meijo Line to Yabacho and a final five-minute walk.
Published travel times are about 25 minutes for the airport train and six minutes for the subway. The full journey also includes the transfer and walk, so check the current timetable before traveling, particularly with luggage or an early flight.
Why stay here
Southern Sakae's shopping blocks, two subway approaches, and a room selection extending beyond compact doubles are the main reasons to stay. The early buffet and lounge add convenience, while the tradeoffs are no private parking, no full-service restaurant, and the need to take the subway for Shinkansen connections.
Sakae brings together department stores, shopping centres, underground retail, and plenty of places to eat. Within walking distance to the south, Osu has a more eclectic mix of shops, secondhand clothing, electronics, restaurants, and cafes.
Good to know
Check-in begins at 2:00 pm, and check-out is by 11:00 am. Children of elementary-school age or younger may share existing beds free within the hotel's room limits, although the rules differ between double and twin rooms.
The hotel has no private car park. Information is available for nearby public car parks with affiliated rates, so drivers should review the current parking conditions before arrival.
