Direct access to Roppongi Hills places Grand Hyatt Tokyo inside one of Tokyo-Roppongi's main shopping, dining, and cultural complexes. Roppongi Station is three minutes away via Hibiya Line Exit 1C, while the Oedo Line entrance is slightly farther from the hotel.
This large luxury hotel has 387 rooms, extensive dining, and a full spa and fitness floor. There's plenty to enjoy between outings, so the hotel can become part of the trip rather than simply a place to sleep. Roppongi has no JR or Shinkansen service, however, and intercity rail journeys require a subway transfer.
Rooms
Standard king and twin rooms start at 42 square meters, generous by central Tokyo standards. Deep soaking tubs and separate rain showers give even the entry categories ample space for downtime. Higher-floor city-view rooms look toward landmarks such as Tokyo Tower and, in clear weather, Mount Fuji.
Suites add separate living space, while club rooms include access to the 10th-floor Grand Club. The lounge provides breakfast, evening cocktails and canapes, concierge support, and private check-in and check-out. Compare the categories carefully. Views, lounge access, and floor level change the experience more than the basic choice of bed.
Facilities
Nagomi Spa and Fitness occupies the fifth floor. Its 20-meter indoor pool and whirlpool provide a genuine place to slow down, while resident guests can use the gym around the clock. Spa treatments, sauna facilities, and meeting spaces take the hotel beyond a typical city stay.
The scale supports work as well as leisure. A business center and extensive meeting facilities accommodate conferences and appointments, while the pool and spa keep the atmosphere from feeling purely corporate.
Dining
Ten restaurants and bars make dining a substantial part of the stay. The French Kitchen serves breakfast and all-day French food, while The Oak Door is the hotel's steakhouse. Japanese, Chinese, Italian, and bar options broaden the selection without requiring guests to leave the building for every meal.
There's plenty of choice. Twenty-four-hour room service is also helpful after a late arrival or when dining in the public rooms isn't the plan.
Location and transport
Roppongi Hills surrounds the hotel with shops, restaurants, a cinema, the Mori Art Museum, and Tokyo City View. The direct connection to the complex is especially helpful in poor weather or when the evening is centered on Roppongi Hills.
The Hibiya Line is the easier route for plans around Ginza, Ebisu, Akihabara, and the Ueno side of the city. The Oedo Line runs directly toward Shinjuku in one direction and Daimon in the other, which matters for Haneda Airport connections. Neither line removes the need to transfer for JR trains or the Shinkansen.
Airport access
From Narita Airport, Hyatt lists an Airport Limousine Bus option to Roppongi, as well as the Narita Express to Tokyo Station followed by a taxi or subway. Both routes take time, so the benefit is a manageable connection rather than a quick airport transfer.
The limousine bus between Haneda Airport and Grand Hyatt Tokyo is currently suspended. One transfer-based rail alternative uses Keikyu and Toei Asakusa services to Daimon, followed by the Oedo Line to Roppongi. Hyatt also suggests taking the Tokyo Monorail to Hamamatsucho and using a taxi for the final leg.
Why stay here
The direct Roppongi Hills connection, spacious standard rooms, wide-ranging dining, and full spa setup make it easy to combine meetings or sightseeing with genuine time at the hotel. Guests planning around museums, evening meals, or nightlife gain more from this location than those focused on early Shinkansen departures.
Roppongi Hills brings the Mori Art Museum, Tokyo City View, shopping, restaurants, and a cinema within the complex. Beyond it, Roppongi's galleries, bars, and late dining give the neighborhood a distinctly different character after dark.
Good to know
The hotel connects directly to Roppongi Hills, not to the subway station itself. Use Hibiya Line Exit 1C for the three-minute walk, and allow about six minutes from Oedo Line Exit 3. Airport bus service and restaurant schedules can change, so check current details when planning a travel day or a specific meal.
