Overview
Two central rail hubs are within walking distance of Daiwa Roynet Hotel Gifu: Meitetsu Gifu Station is two minutes away, while Gifu Station is seven minutes away. Guests can use JR trains for Nagoya and the Takayama Main Line, or Meitetsu services for Nagoya, Inuyama, and Central Japan International Airport.
It's a straightforward city stay with more room variety than the standard double might suggest. A 24-hour convenience store is on the first floor, breakfast begins at 6:30, and coin laundry helps on longer trips.
Rooms
The 203 guest rooms range from 17.2-square-meter standard doubles to a 33.6-square-meter junior suite. Standard doubles have a wide desk, while deluxe doubles and casual twins replace the desk with different bed configurations.
Larger standard twins can accommodate an extra bed and add a massage chair and upgraded shower head. The universal twin is designed for wheelchair access. The junior suite sleeps up to four with extra beds and has a semi-separated bathroom, large television, and home-theater projector.
Facilities
A 24-hour convenience store with an ATM occupies the first floor. Coin laundry rooms remain open around the clock on three guest floors, while vending machines, ice machines, and microwaves are available on selected floors.
Other services include self-check-in, one-day luggage storage, a meeting room, and partnered parking. Parking locations have different operating hours and vehicle restrictions, so drivers should confirm the current arrangements before arrival.
Dining
Breakfast is a Japanese and Western buffet served from 6:30 to 10:00 on the second floor. More than 40 dishes are available, with pot-cooked rice, hoba miso, tofu, and other local or regional flavors among the options.
Restaurants and izakaya around the two stations provide alternatives later in the day. That gives late arrivals more flexibility than relying on a single in-house dinner venue.
Location and transport
The hotel is in the Gifu Station Area, between the city's two main rail hubs. JR rapid trains connect Gifu with Nagoya, and the Takayama Main Line continues toward Gero and Takayama. Meitetsu provides another route to Nagoya as well as regional services toward Inuyama.
Buses from the station area run toward Gifu Park, Kawaramachi, and the Nagara River. Gifu Park is about 15 minutes away by bus, while the seasonal cormorant-fishing area is about 20 minutes away. Traffic and the selected stop can affect either journey.
Airport access
Direct Meitetsu airport limited express trains connect Meitetsu Gifu with Central Japan International Airport in about 60 minutes. With the station only two minutes away, this route is manageable with luggage and avoids a transfer in Nagoya when a direct train fits the timetable.
Reaching Nagoya Airport requires a bus to Nagoya followed by JR or Meitetsu rail to Gifu. Neither airport route provides a hotel-door shuttle.
Why stay here
The short walk to Meitetsu Gifu simplifies trips to and from Centrair, while nearby JR Gifu keeps Nagoya connections and Takayama Main Line departures within reach. Breakfast from 6:30, the first-floor convenience store, and room choices extending to twins and a four-person junior suite support short business stays and regional rail itineraries alike.
Beyond the station district, Gifu Park, Mount Kinka, Kawaramachi's old merchant streets, and the Nagara River cormorant-fishing docks give visitors several reasons to explore the city. Local buses connect the hotel area with these sights, so staying near the trains doesn't rule out time by the river or around the mountain.
Good to know
JR Gifu and Meitetsu Gifu are separate stations, and the hotel is considerably closer to the Meitetsu platforms. Check the operator before setting out, especially with luggage. Partner parking has its own operating hours and restrictions.
Gifu Castle's keep and museum are closed for renovation through late October 2027. Gifu Park, Kawaramachi, the ropeway, and seasonal river activities have separate access arrangements and schedules.
7-minute walk
