Overview
Comfort Hotel Nagoya Kanayama is about one minute from the east exit of Kanayama Station. JR, Meitetsu, and two subway routes all stop there, so the short outdoor walk works well for airport arrivals, local journeys, and early departures.
The hotel has 207 non-smoking rooms, an included breakfast buffet, and a guest library cafe that stays open until midnight. Check-in machines, luggage lockers, and coin laundry handle routine needs, while the front desk remains staffed 24 hours.
Rooms
Most guests will choose between the Double Standard, Queen Economy, and Twin Standard. Doubles are the most compact and account for 137 rooms. Queens provide a wider bed, while twins offer two separate beds and more open floor space.
The six Family Rooms have three beds. Connecting layouts join two twin rooms through an internal door, which gives larger families or small groups separate sleeping and bathroom space. Three barrier-free Universal Rooms are also available, but they must be booked by telephone.
Every room is non-smoking and has a Simmons mattress, a movable desk, and a television that supports casting from a personal device. The TV can also show the current crowding at breakfast and whether a washing machine is free.
Facilities
The fourth-floor Comfort Library Cafe opens from 10:00 until midnight. Staying guests can use its Wi-Fi and charging points, help themselves to coffee or tea, or browse more than 100 books and photo collections. It is useful when a compact room feels too confined for work or route planning.
Free self-service lockers hold luggage before check-in or after checkout. The fourth-floor coin laundry operates around the clock, and guests can check machine availability from their room. Self check-in and checkout machines keep the usual arrival formalities brief, while reception remains staffed 24 hours.
Dining
Breakfast is included and served in the library cafe from 6:30 to 9:30. The mostly Western-style buffet includes smoothies and familiar breakfast staples, with several dishes changing by day and season.
There is no advertised full-service restaurant for lunch or dinner. Restaurants and convenience stores surround Kanayama Station, and Asunal Kanayama adds more casual choices on the north side of the tracks.
Location and transport
The hotel is located on the east side of Nagoya-Kanayama, a short walk from one of the city's busiest interchange stations. JR's Tokaido and Chuo main lines, the Meitetsu Nagoya Main Line, and the Meijo and Meiko subway lines meet at Kanayama.
JR trains reach Nagoya Station in about five minutes for Tokaido Shinkansen connections. The Meijo Line runs directly toward Sakae, while the Meiko Line continues toward Nagoya Port. Atsuta Jingu is one short Meitetsu ride away.
Kanayama has separate JR, Meitetsu, and subway gates. Follow the operator signs when changing systems, particularly if you have luggage or a reserved onward train.
Airport access
Meitetsu operates direct trains between Kanayama and Chubu Centrair International Airport. The fastest services take about 25 minutes, followed by the one-minute walk from the east exit to the hotel.
There is no hotel airport shuttle. Train times and stopping patterns vary, and a first-class car ticket is required in addition to the base fare when using a first-class car on Mu-Sky and certain limited express services.
Why stay here
A direct airport train and five rail or subway routes make this hotel a sensible choice when transport matters more than a downtown address. Breakfast starts at 6:30, the cafe remains available until midnight, and the station entrance is close enough to keep luggage handling to a minimum.
Families have more flexibility than the compact doubles suggest. Three-bed rooms and connecting twins are both available, while Asunal Kanayama covers everyday shopping and meals near the station. The main limitation is the lack of doorstep Shinkansen service; bullet-train passengers must change at Nagoya Station.
Good to know
Standard check-in begins at 3:00 pm. Universal Rooms require a telephone booking, and connecting rooms or the small supply of three-bed rooms may be worth reserving early when those layouts matter.
The hotel does not operate its own car park. A 42-space partner garage nearby is paid, cannot be reserved, and is allocated on a first-come basis.
