Overview

ANA Crowne Plaza Chitose gives airport travelers a town-side alternative to a basic overnight stay. The 438-room hotel is in the Chitose Station Area, beyond Aeon on the walking route from the station. Free parking and four dining venues are clear advantages for a rental-car stop or an evening when you'd rather eat at the hotel.

The tradeoff is simple. This is not an airport terminal hotel. New Chitose Airport is nearby, but reaching a flight still requires a train, local bus, taxi, or car.

Rooms

Rooms are divided between the older Tower and the Wing, which opened in 2017. Published categories range from 20.1-square-metre singles and doubles to a 93.5-square-metre suite, with twin, family, and other larger layouts in between. If you're booking for three or four people, check the exact category rather than assuming every twin room accepts extra guests.

Some upper-floor Tower rooms face the airport and may offer views of aircraft activity. The outlook depends on the room type and side of the building, so it's worth requesting rather than treating it as standard.

Facilities

The hotel has 90 complimentary outdoor parking spaces, space for buses, and two EV charging spaces. That is one of its clearest advantages over hotels inside the airport complex.

An on-site convenience store, coin laundry, fitness room, and room service cover the everyday needs of a longer stay. The hotel also hosts meetings and larger events, which accounts for its broader facilities and sometimes busy public areas.

Dining

There is enough choice to stay in for dinner. HASKAP The Garden is the all-day restaurant, while Shikotsu specializes in robata-grilled seafood, meat, and vegetables. Fujihana serves sushi and seafood on the Tower's 11th floor, and The Park Bar has drinks and lighter food.

Location and transport

From Chitose Station, leave through the North Ticket Gate and pass through Chitose Station Plaza before descending to street level. Continue beyond Aeon to reach the hotel. The route is clearly defined, but the final stretch is outdoors and there is no direct station connection.

JR trains connect central Chitose with the airport and Sapporo. From the station, a taxi may be more comfortable when snow, heavy luggage, or an awkward arrival time makes the walk unappealing.

Airport access

By rail, travel between New Chitose Airport Station and Chitose Station, then finish the journey on foot or by taxi. The local Yumai Airport Line bus serves Aeon Chitose near the hotel, but it is a public city bus rather than a dedicated hotel transfer.

There is no airport shuttle. Check the day's train and bus schedules if your flight departs very early or lands late, since a taxi or rental car may be the only comfortable option outside regular service hours.

Why stay here

Free parking, four on-site dining choices, and full-service facilities take some friction out of a night before or after a flight. If the shortest possible route to airline check-in matters most, an airport terminal hotel will be more convenient.

The setting also leaves room for time in Chitose. Salmon Hometown Chitose Aquarium is about 1.3 kilometres away, while Lake Shikotsu is a realistic day trip by car rather than a nearby walk.

Good to know

Check-in starts at 3:00 p.m. and checkout is at 11:00 a.m. Parking is free but outdoors, and airport transport is not included with the stay.
