Overview
Kochi Station is Kochi’s main JR rail gateway and the easiest arrival point for many travelers reaching the city by train. Just north of the central visitor area, the station brings together rail services, airport bus access, nearby hotels, and local transit connections into the older city core.
Lines and connections
Kochi Station is numbered D45 and K00. Dosan Line services connect the city with other parts of Shikoku, and the station also links with services associated with the Gomen-Nahari Line side of the regional network.
Airport access
Airport limousine buses serve Kochi-eki Bus Terminal, with the trip from Kochi Ryoma Airport taking about 25 minutes. Although the airport connection is by bus rather than rail, the station is still a practical access point for arrivals and departures.
Station area
The station area is convenient for luggage, taxis, buses, lockers, rental car services, and getting oriented before continuing into the city. Travelers heading to OMO7 Kochi by Hoshino Resorts can continue by taxi or take the streetcar from the Kochi-Ekimae side toward Saenbacho via Harimayabashi.
Good to know
Kochi Station is separate from the food and market area around Hirome Market, Obiyamachi, and Kochi Castle. Use the station for rail and airport bus logistics, and rely on the central streetcar stops when your plans focus on dining, markets, and castle-town sightseeing.
