Transport access and hotel guide

Overview

JR Clement Inn Kochi is about two minutes from Kochi Station and Kochi-eki Bus Terminal, on the transport-focused edge of Kochi City Center. The hotel is west of the station, away from the older dining and sightseeing streets farther south.

Early trains and late buses are easy to manage here. All rooms are non-smoking, breakfast is served downstairs, and coin laundry helps with longer stays. The tradeoff is distance from Hirome Market and Kochi Castle, neither of which is close to the door.

Rooms

The rooms are compact. Most are 15.1-square-meter singles with a 140-centimeter bed, while twins add a second bed and increase the space to about 21 square meters.

A 31.8-square-meter universal room reduces floor-level changes and has handrails around the bathroom and toilet. Only one is available, and it must be booked by phone. All rooms have custom Serta mattresses and Wi-Fi.

Facilities

The second-floor coin laundry is especially handy for multi-night stays or after outdoor sightseeing. The front desk can hold luggage before check-in or after checkout, but it must be collected that same day.

The attached JR Kochi Station West garage has 104 spaces, allocated on a first-come basis. Larger vehicles need to account for its 2.1-meter height limit.

Dining

Ekimaeno Rakuda on the first floor serves seven Japanese and Western breakfast sets rather than a buffet. Regional choices feature ingredients such as straw-seared bonito and Kochi whitebait, alongside simpler grilled-fish and toast options.

In the evening, the restaurant reopens as a casual pub-style venue. It closes on Mondays and alternate Tuesdays, so it can't be relied on for dinner every night.

Location and transport

JR Kochi Station and Kochi-eki Bus Terminal are both about two minutes away on foot. JR services and highway buses handle longer-distance travel, while the Kochi-Ekimae streetcar stop provides a local connection south toward Harimayabashi and the older center.

Hirome Market is about 20 minutes from the station on foot, and Kochi Castle is about 25 minutes away. A streetcar or taxi may be more comfortable when you're carrying bags or returning after dinner.

Airport access

A direct limousine bus connects Kochi Ryoma Airport with Kochi-eki Bus Terminal in about 25 minutes. No transfer is required, and the walk from the bus terminal to the hotel takes about two minutes.

Why stay here

The short station walk simplifies early JR departures, late highway-bus arrivals, and airport transfers. Rooms are compact and the older evening streets aren't at the door, but breakfast and coin laundry help keep a travel-heavy stay manageable.

Hirome Market gathers dozens of food stalls and communal tables around local dishes such as seared bonito, while Kochi Castle retains its original main keep. Both are south of the station, so taking the streetcar or a taxi can avoid the longer walk from the hotel.

Good to know

The hotel is close to Kochi Station but isn't directly connected to it. There is no public bath, and every guest room is non-smoking.

Parking in the attached garage costs JPY 1,000 per 24 hours. Spaces can't be reserved.
