Overview
This Fukuoka City Subway Airport Line station is in central Fukuoka, one stop west of Tenjin. It matters for visitors staying on the Daimyo and west Tenjin side because it can be closer than Tenjin Station for some hotels, restaurants, bars, and shopping streets.
Lines and connections
The station is on the Airport Line and is listed as K07 in Fukuoka City Subway station-number information. Eastbound trains run toward Tenjin, Nakasu-Kawabata, Hakata, and Fukuoka Airport, while westbound trains run toward Ohori Park, Nishijin, and Meinohama.
This makes it a practical stop for travelers who want the Daimyo side of central Fukuoka without giving up the main airport and Hakata subway route.
Airport access
Fukuoka Airport access works by subway on the Airport Line. The airport's domestic terminal is directly connected to the subway station, and travelers can stay on the same line from the airport through Tenjin to this stop.
Station area
This station is the better subway anchor for Daimyo-side hotel stays than the main Tenjin station cluster when the destination is west of Kego Park. THE KNOT FUKUOKA Tenjin lists Exit 5 as its nearest subway access, about four minutes on foot.
Daimyo and west Tenjin are associated with clothing shops, cafes, restaurants, bars, and nightlife, while central Tenjin has the larger department-store, underground-mall, Nishitetsu rail, and expressway-bus cluster.
Good to know
This is not the Shinkansen gateway for Fukuoka. Use Hakata Station for Shinkansen transfers, and compare this stop with Tenjin when choosing a hotel around Daimyo, west Tenjin, or the central Tenjin shopping area.
