Overview
Between Odori Park and Tanukikoji's shopping streets, TRUNK(HOTEL) SAPPORO is scheduled to open on September 17, 2027. The hotel will occupy the upper floors of Sapporo Daibiru in Sapporo-Odori, about two minutes on foot from Odori Station.
Rooms
The 107 rooms will extend across floors 13 to 18, comprising 89 standard rooms and 18 suites, including spa suites. Wood-rich interiors, mid-century influences, local crafts, and references to Hokkaido's landscape will shape the design.
Facilities
The 18th-floor TRUNK(BATH HOUSE) will center on ten bathing spaces linked by a roughly 40-meter waterway, with shifts in temperature, light, and sound along the circuit. Swimwear is required for this area. Separate men's and women's facilities will add large baths, hot saunas, cold plunges, and outdoor spaces for cooling down.
A gym is planned for the same floor. Elsewhere, a private studio with cinema and karaoke rooms will provide space for gatherings and events.
Dining
Sushi Saito will open its first Sapporo restaurant on the 10th floor, bringing Edomae sushi techniques together with Hokkaido ingredients and culinary traditions.
An all-day restaurant on the same floor will serve seasonal Hokkaido produce from breakfast through dinner. The lounge and bar will host live piano and band performances, while transparent domes on the outdoor terrace are planned as sheltered places to take in winter snow views.
Location and transport
Odori Station brings together the Namboku, Tozai, and Toho subway lines, keeping cross-city trips flexible. For JR services, take the Namboku Line one stop north to Sapporo Station. Susukino Station, about four minutes on foot from the building, is on the same north-south subway route.
Sapporo Daibiru is planned to connect directly to the underground shopping network. That sheltered route will be welcome during rain or snow, though you'll need extra time to reach the hotel's reception on the 10th floor.
Airport access
JR Airport trains run directly from New Chitose Airport to Sapporo Station. From there, transfer to the Namboku Line for the one-stop ride to Odori, then walk to the hotel building. With large bags, a taxi from Sapporo Station avoids the subway transfer.
Why stay here
Three subway lines at Odori make it easier to plan sightseeing across Sapporo, while the 18th-floor bath house gives the hotel an experience worth setting aside time for. Frequent JR departures still require the additional trip to Sapporo Station, so weigh that transfer against staying in central Odori.
Nearby Tanukikoji has a covered arcade lined with ramen, soup curry, and small shops. To the north, Odori Park offers gardens and seasonal events, from summer beer gardens to the winter Snow Festival.
