Transport access and hotel guide

Overview

Breakfast comes with a 19th-floor waterfront view at Toyoko Inn Kokura-eki Kita-guchi, a six-minute walk from Kokura Station's North Exit. The hotel is in the Asano convention district of Kokura Station Area, near Kitakyushu International Conference Center and Mikuni World Stadium.

The focus is straightforward: complimentary breakfast, self-service facilities, and convenient rail connections. Shinkansen platforms and regional trains are close, while the busier shopping arcades, Tanga Market, and Kokura Castle are across the station to the south.

Rooms

Single, double, and twin layouts include a wider single category and an accessible Heartful Room B. Wi-Fi and rain showers provide the main in-room comforts.

The selection covers solo stays, couples, and two people sharing. Layouts vary, so compare the categories carefully if floor space, accessibility, or bed arrangement matters.

Facilities

Self-check-in and self-service lockers help if you arrive before your room is ready or need to leave luggage after checkout. Everyday convenience takes priority over leisure facilities.

Drivers have 39 paid surface parking spaces, allocated on a first-come basis. Bus parking requires a reservation, so larger groups will need to arrange it in advance.

Dining

A complimentary buffet is served from 6:30 AM to 9:00 AM. The breakfast room occupies the 19th floor, seats more than 100 people, and overlooks the surrounding water.

It's an unusual setting for this hotel category. Local Mignon bread is among the buffet highlights, while lunch and dinner require a trip toward the station or downtown dining areas.

Location and transport

Kokura Station's North Exit is six minutes away on foot. The station serves the Sanyo Shinkansen, JR Kagoshima Main Line, Nippo Main Line, Hitahikosan Line, and Kitakyushu Monorail, covering long-distance arrivals and trips around northern Kyushu.

Hakata is roughly 15 to 20 minutes away by Shinkansen, while local JR trains reach Mojiko in about 15 minutes. The north side is more convenient for conventions, exhibitions, and stadium events. Cross through the station for the monorail, covered shopping streets, Tanga Market, and the route toward Kokura Castle.

Airport access

Travel from Kitakyushu Airport usually begins with an airport bus to Kokura. The hotel gives the journey as about 40 minutes, followed by a walk from the station area rather than a hotel-door transfer.

Stops and journey times vary by service. Check the current timetable and Kokura stop before matching the bus to an early flight, especially if you're carrying luggage.

Why stay here

An early Shinkansen, convention day, or stadium event is easier to manage from the Asano side of Kokura Station. The six-minute walk, self-service lockers, and included high-floor breakfast simplify the stay, though facilities are less extensive than at a full-service hotel.

There is plenty to do beyond the north-side event district. Cross to the south for the arcades, Tanga Market, and Kokura Castle, or take a local train to Mojiko's historic waterfront.

Good to know

The hotel is close to Kokura Station but isn't directly connected. Use the North Exit and allow for a six-minute street-level walk.

Airport buses don't stop at the hotel, and on-site car parking can't be reserved. Confirm the airport bus stop before traveling, and keep a backup parking plan if you're driving.
