Transport access and hotel guide

Overview

Tokyu Stay Gotanda is closed for renovation and plans to reopen in spring 2027. The hotel is two minutes on foot from the East Exit of Gotanda Station and one minute from the Toei Asakusa Line's A6 exit, keeping both JR trains and the subway close for travel across Tokyo.

Rooms

The renovated Moderate Double will measure 17 square metres and have a 140-centimetre-wide bed for up to two guests. The 22-square-metre Superior Queen will come with a wider, 160-centimetre bed.

For three or four guests, the planned Deluxe Twin will offer 27 square metres for three guests, while the 44-square-metre Signature Family will accommodate four. Both will have kitchenettes.

Every room is due to include a washer-dryer and microwave, so guests can wash clothes and heat food without leaving the room. Kitchenettes won't be standard, however. Book a Premium King, Deluxe Twin or Signature Family if you want to cook.

Art-themed rooms are also planned, though their layouts and booking details haven't been announced.

Dining

A second-floor breakfast service is planned for the reopening, with a choice of three main dishes and a buffet of bread, soup and salads. Breakfast is scheduled from 7am to 10am, with last orders at 9:30am.

Location and transport

The Yamanote Line provides direct trains to Shibuya and Shinjuku. In the other direction, Shinagawa Station is the interchange for the Tokaido Shinkansen. Bullet trains don't stop at Gotanda.

The Toei Asakusa Line runs toward Higashi-ginza for Ginza and continues to Asakusa, although some trains require a change at Sengakuji. The Tokyu Ikegami Line runs to Togoshi-ginza and Kamata. Its Gotanda entrance is about three minutes from the hotel.

Airport access

From Haneda Airport, take Keikyu to Shinagawa and change to the Yamanote Line for Gotanda. From Narita Airport, take the Narita Express to Shinagawa, then continue on the Yamanote Line. Both journeys require a transfer before the final walk from Gotanda Station.

Why stay here

For a longer Tokyo stay after reopening, in-room laundry will let you pack fewer clothes. A room with a kitchenette will also give you an alternative to eating out for every meal, with JR trains and the subway a short walk away.

In Tokyo-Gotanda, you can follow the Meguro River toward Osaki, stop for dinner nearby and see the riverside cherry blossoms in spring. Gotanda Tokyu Square has shops and restaurants connected to the station.

Good to know

For stays of seven nights or more, full room cleaning is scheduled once a week. Towel changes and rubbish collection are available on request using the door notice, so don't expect daily full housekeeping.

There is no hotel parking.
