Overview
Dining and events shape the experience at The Strings Hotel Nagoya. Its 126 guest rooms share the building with four restaurants, seven banquet halls, a chapel, gardens, and terraces used for weddings and other gatherings.
The hotel is in Nagoya-Sasashima Live, three minutes on foot from Sasashima-raibu Station. Nagoya Station is one stop north on the Aonami Line or about a ten-minute walk from the Sakuradori side. The city's main rail hub remains close, but the hotel isn't inside its concourses.
Rooms
The smallest Smart Double and Smart Twin rooms measure 18 square meters. Corner Smart Twins have windows on two sides and measure 20 square meters, while the 25-square-meter Deluxe Twins look toward either the railway or the cathedral-style wedding venue. Depending on the category, these rooms accommodate two or three adults.
Residence Twins and Universal Twins measure 28 square meters. The Residence Twin adds a larger desk and coffee machine for work or longer visits, while the Universal Twin has a wheelchair-accessible layout. The 36-square-meter Suite is the largest option and includes a fully separated bathroom.
Room size deserves a careful look. Entry categories are compact, while the larger twins and Suite provide more room for luggage, work, or a third guest.
Facilities
Weddings, meetings, and celebrations occupy much of the lower floors. Seven banquet halls range from smaller meeting spaces to venues for more than 100 guests, and several connect to gardens, terraces, or lounge areas.
The entrance is step-free, with accessibility specifications available for the elevators, fourth-floor reception, breakfast venue, and Universal Twin. Drivers have access to about 60 paid outdoor parking spaces, although the car park can fill and vehicle-size limits apply.
Dining
Chef's Live Kitchen serves a daily breakfast buffet from 7:00 to 10:00, followed by lunch and dinner. The other venues cover teppanyaki, French dining, and a lobby lounge known for afternoon tea, allowing meals in the building to range from breakfast to a planned dinner or celebration.
That selection is broader than you'll find at many hotels near a local station. It also means the public areas can become active around weekend weddings and special dining events.
Location and transport
Sasashima-raibu is the closest rail stop, with Nagoya Station one stop away on the Aonami Line. At Nagoya Station, the Tokaido Shinkansen and JR lines handle long-distance and regional journeys. Meitetsu operates airport trains, while Kintetsu, subway services, and buses cover other city and regional routes.
Nagoya Station is also about ten minutes away on foot via the Sakuradori side. A complimentary shuttle provides another option, but its schedule varies by day. Service runs in both directions on weekends and holidays, while weekday buses operate only from the hotel to Nagoya Station between 7:00 AM and noon.
Airport access
From Central Japan International Airport, the fastest Meitetsu Mu-Sky services reach Meitetsu Nagoya in about 28 minutes. The final leg is on foot, by taxi, on the Aonami Line, or by hotel shuttle when the schedule suits your arrival.
Limousine buses from Nagoya Airport reach the Meitetsu Nagoya area in about 20 minutes, followed by the same final transfer. Neither option provides hotel-door airport service, so allow for the change when you're carrying luggage.
Why stay here
A wedding, banquet, dinner, or meeting can take place without another trip across the city after check-in. Four restaurants and the larger twin categories also give family visits and celebrations more flexibility. If daily Shinkansen departures or the shortest walk to airport trains matter more, staying directly beside Nagoya Station removes the final local leg.
Sasashima Live has a newer canal-side setting south of the main rail district. Global Gate brings shops and restaurants close to the hotel, while Cruise Nagoya departs from Sasashima Live on operating days for journeys along the Nakagawa Canal toward the port.
Good to know
The hotel isn't directly connected to either rail station. On weekdays, the complimentary shuttle doesn't collect arriving guests at Nagoya Station and runs only from the hotel to the station in the morning. For the reverse journey, use the Aonami Line, walk, or take a taxi.
